I'm a Southern Nevada resident myself and the ventilated seats are the only thing I wish I had on my 2022 Trailsport. Not a dealbreaker but it's the first vehicle I've owned in quite awhile without this feature.

Looks like it will not have a Black Edition, just an EX-L, Trail Sport (base) and a Trail Sport Elite. I like it but I don't need off-road to that extent. But most people with off-road vehicles never touch the dirt. Was kinda hoping for a black edition with more of a street tire. But they are going after the Bronco market.

Like the boxy shape but appearance wise it's a big change from the prior gen, not sure if current owners will be lining up for this next gen.

I will get the Passport Elite, replace the tires with Michelins, and remove the heavy skid plates. That is what the Elite or Black Edition would have been anyway. It will ride smoother and get better gas mileage. Changing the oil and filter might also be easier.

This will ride better than the current Black Edition with its low profile tires on 20" wheels. The new General Grabber A/T tires are rated at 60,000 miles. I wonder how smooth and quiet they will be with 50,000 miles on them.

The two party tricks they left off are the heads-up display and the buttons that drop the back seats. I guess they wanted to save money or leave those for future updates. Time will tell.

I see some flavors of the boxy 1997 Pathfinder.

The difference between the 2026 and 2019-2025 models is still mainly in the looks area so anyone that's happy with their present generation Passport doesn't need to upgrade IMO. But the automobile press response to the 2026 reveal has been largely positive. Honda will sell loads of it. It might even steal a few Bronco buyers if they get to check this before the Bronco. Folks with a lot of sense that do not need a third row will pick this Passport over the Kia Telluride or Hyundai Palisade if Honda prices it competitively.

Yes, I hate the iPad duct taped to the dash look. Honestly it wouldn't stop me from buying a car, its one of those things we have to learn to accept. But I'd much rather if manufacturers would incorporate it into the dash or at least only 20% of it be above the dash.

Unfortunately I believe pricing will be high, despite the many borrowed parts such as the engine, the economy of scale isn't strong with the Passport. And CAFE dictates not to sell too many of the lowest mileage models, no matter how profitable they are.

I'm really liking this new Passport. As much as I enjoy my '20 Elite... I'm thinking a '26 Passport TS Elite (probably in Sunset Orange) is very likely in my future.

I know it's ugly but it's put high so that the drivers eyes aren't lowered to look at it.

I hope there is an evolution towards a single wide screen rather than more and bigger screens!

If the screen needs to be replaced because of age/failure or accidental damage, it will be easy to pop off the plastic trim, remove two screws on the back side, and unplug it. I just need the part.

I don't know if they've released a 2026 color chart, but seeing these early shots with an exterior color of orange is very encouraging. The black/brown interior (below) looks good. IMO recent Honda and Acura's color options have been very disappointing.

I've seen a ton of Toyotas in that bright "Hunter Orange" running around Utah and I'm starting to see them in Southern Nevada, honestly I don't hate the color but I'm not certain I'd be brave enough to actually purchase a vehicle in a color like that or how that bright of a color would hold up long term in the desert sun, but i do like the fact that it's somthing different than what we're all used to seeing all the time.

You assume correctly. The DOHC J35Y8 uses VCM.

VCM defeat devices are available for earlier Passport years. I don't believe the top two makers of the defeat devices have made a version that works with the 2023 Pilot (J35Y8) engine which is the same engine in the 2026 Passport.

I have no proof to back this up, but supposedly Honda's latest iteration of VCM (VCM-3? or 4?) on the 2016+ J35Y6 and the 2023+ J35Y8 doesn't seem to be causing long-term problems. Lots of discussions about this on the Piloteers forum.

That said, I still put an S-VCM device on my '21 Pilot, but haven't installed it on my wife's Passport.
