A good deal is more than just the OTD price. I only got $1K off the sticker price but negotiated a lot more than they initially offered on my trade in, a discounted price on their maintenance package and had them throw in the all weather mats and cargo liner. In my state the sales tax is calculate on the selling price MINUS what they gave you for the trade in; so the more money they give you on trade in the less tax you pay.

For me, bottom line is king, because it's what I have to finance, and determines my monthly payments. Also, it's fun to watch dealers sweat.

I didn't Finance enough for a tax break .. my entire interest is going to be around 800 bucks or something if I go to full term and normally I double up.. I didn't finance a lot

Might be a mistake in his article. If you goto irs.gov and search your vin. Your Passport will qualify.

Probably just oversight. The Passport qualifies, since it's made in Alabama.
