Regarding the antenna adapter, my Kenwood only has one Blue/white wire on it's harness for either power antenna or amp. I'm assuming there is no separate amp in this trim level and plan on connecting that B/W wire to to Blue wire on the antenna adapter and leaving the Blue wire on the Metra harness empty.

Thoughts on this?
That's what I did blue from the adapter to blue on the radio.

I found 2 brown wires for the reverse. Which one did you tap into? 1st image appears easier to access but unsure if either wire will do or if I must tap into the one in 2nd image, much tighter and gauge appears much smaller

The reverse wire is a huge pain to get to there is a ridgeline video and he shows the wire. For that one take the lower panel off on the driver side it helps a lot.

He points out the reverse at about 7:40 in the video.
I am pretty confident I have the correct brown wire. There are 2 brown wires on the harness but I am going with the one that shows what he's pointing to.

this thing is a pain to get to

On my first attempt I tapped into the wrong brown wire it was the 2nd plug down but there were no damages it just didn't work.
That thing was a pain to get to. All setup and so far all is good. I don't have source or call pick up/hangup from steering wheel controls but that's not a big deal. I check wiring several times and everything was done based on everyones info. Man, I could never have done this one without your help and all the others that have shared info. Thanks again

Looks great glad it worked out.

I just need to look at the wiring set up to determine what I need to keep and remove to make sure I don’t screw up SWC with pin 12 and 24 in the camera harness
I've been digging through wiring schematics today for another project and I'm checking back on the radio wiring. It looks like the sub feeds directly off of pin 2 (Red) and 4 (White) and nowhere in line is there an amp. It looks like the head unit may have had the amp built-in. This view shows plug A (car wiring not the metra plug) out to the speakers. It would explain the thicker wires on the corners to handle the full power from the head unit to the sub.

This one shows the plug in the back where the sub connects to the rear floor harness.

The CD plug gray is the illumination wire so you were correct even though we knew it worked.

Awesome! Looks like I need to start researching some amps that I can fit in dash to get that thing powered up! Can’t imagine I need much power but would plan on replacing the sub anyway as I am looking into changing out the speakers

Something else that I realized the front tweeters feed off the same wires for the door speakers. They don't have any dedicated lines for them.

Hi, Jomar 65 - did you ever find a unit to replace the crappy 5" stock unit? If so please message me. Thanks!
Do you plan on installing the new head unit yourself?

@speeddile
You should try and get a quote from a local installer. You may run across the same issues I did and others. Since there is not a dash kit for the PP most installers don't want to touch it. If they do, it will not fall under standard install and will cost more. Last I checked, lots of head units on back order (this was a few months ago).

I will be attempting to install an Alpine ILX-W650 on my own in the next couple weeks. Like others here, I reached out to multiple shops in my area and they either did not respond or are not willing to take on the project due to the lack of information on the Passport. I've never installed a stereo before, so I have done a lot of research to learn about the process and collected resources from this thread and YouTube. I paid for Crutchfield's ReadyHarness service by telling them I have a Honda Pilot LX, since it has the same exact head unit, dashboard, and steering wheel, in hopes of making the process easier. I also bought the parking brake bypass to both avoid splicing into too many factory wires.

The one thing I still feel uncertain about is the reverse wire. A few people on here said it was a pain to get to, but didn't quite explain the process they used to access it splice into it. Could anyone shed more light on the portion of the project? Is it located close enough to the unit that I will be able to splice the blue/white wire of the AX-HON24RVC-6V into the brown reverse wire without adding extra wiring?

Also if anyone has any tips un unpinning the extra harness, I'd appreciate it... I've already ruined 4 of the wires.

Thanks in advance. When I finish the project I'll share photos and any resources I used!
