Followed the instructions for updating my maps, but gave up after letting my car idle for more that 4 and a half hours. Is this the typical wait time for an update this size?

I have a 21 and updated my map software for the first time a few months ago and it only took like 15 mins or so.

This happened to me the first time I did this. After about an hour, I tried again with a different USB drive and it worked perfectly.

 

Your comment saved me this afternoon FYI. I tried updating mine and after downloading the newest maps via Garmin Express and inserting into the car USB I got a message that said "Insert empty USB". I knew my maps where on the USB so I thought.. wait an hour and try again.

And then it worked like a charm and took very little time for the car to update the maps.
