finally brought home my 2021 Passport Elite tonight (45k miles). I love the jewel headlights. everything feels so substantial and solid. pictures do not do the interior justice. I also think the lane keep assist is way smoother than what was on our 2022 tundra.

the infotainment screen isn't huge, but it's a nice display and super responsive, like more than any I've ever used. I also think the sound system is awesome.

The vehicle is in great condition. zero complaints. you'd think the back seats and trunk were never once used. underside of the vehicle is mint, not a spec of rust. I'm guessing this was someone's company car and they just pounded miles on it for a few years.

MODS ORDERED:
  • 18" hpd bronze wheels
  • 265/65/18 Geolander G015
  • traxda 2" lift
  • factory all weather floor mats

In a month or so I'll be having the factory towing package + trans cooler installed. Eventually will also do hpd fenders but Ive spent enough for now haha.

carmax was easy to deal with.

Congrats!!!!!

I love my Passport but how bad was the lane assist on the Tundra when the Passports is better?! It’s just funny as the safety features are things that people tend to think Honda used the junk drawer / entry level engineers for haha!!!

That Passport is a great vehicle! Many Many more miles to go!!!!!!

the tundra, which had the newest gen of theirs at the time, was like an old man driving a Cadillac with loose steering. constant wheel jiggle as it fought to stay in what it thought was the center of the lane, but really did a lot of ping ponging between the lines, and got very confused by morning and evening tree shadows across the highway.

you guys make Hondas sound so bad I was expecting it to be worse, but you set my expectations so low i have been pleasantly surprised haha! imo it's much smoother and less annoying.

Personally I don't find Honda's lane keep to be too bad, I don't use it much though. Adaptive cruise on the other hand needs some refinement IMO. Audi does it ok, Land Rover maybe a little less and Honda not so much. Dumps way too much speed in some scenarios. Locks on to the car slowing ahead to exit and doesn't sense when it has moved into the next lane early enough. Very late to 'see' that and recover its speed. People behind you are like wth is this guy doing 60 to 40 and then just sitting there for 10 seconds at 40. Really bad. Even two to three seconds sooner would make a world of difference IMO. Then it doesn't work at all under 30 I believe, keep that in mind, I was caught off-guard by that after coming from the rover. Low speed follow would be nice. I've never had that on anything yet though so I don't how how good it would be in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Proud New PP owner!!!!! congrats. the all weather mats are a massive plus. the engine on the passport is muscular. the sound system on the Elite is (i own high end audio at home) excellent.

i drove the PP in Colorado within 10K of owning it. massive snowstorm in Colorado Springs. i was driving all granny, then the AWD Audis and BMWs started passing me moving at faster clip. i kicked in the driving in SNOW on center console and away we went. you can feel it when AWD is engaged wet or dry.

enjoy it, my 2020 has 40K and Honda wants to sell me a new one but i love mine....

40k is barely broken in on a Honda which is why I only buy used ones haha. Never needed the warranty on one either!

Congratulations!
Can't wait to see it when it is done. I would do the hitch yourself. Dealer is going to charge you alot! They are on sale now. I did it myself with a floor jack to hold the hitch up to bolt it on, but with two people, it would be easier. Also, your elite may have the trans cooler so double check before you pay them to put one in. I didn't have a hitch but have the cooler. Wire Harness eTrailer hitch

I'll double check! I thought only 2022+ came with them standard... Possible they started adding them late 2021. Otherwise, I thought it was only for tow package option.

I could for sure do the hitch myself. The cooler is something I could do but just don't want to haha. I hate storing and disposing of fluids. Good time to get a drain and fill on the transmission anyways. Going to also have them do the diffs while they are at it.

No Passport year comes with the hitch standard, its a dealer or owner installed option.

Please think twice before you buy. Insufficient service records. That’s a huge red flag. Sounds like a company car that could have multiple drivers; younger drivers that don’t respect cars? At the very least, use the VIN and pay for a Carfax. You need better records of maintenance.
you're not accounting for (a minority it seems) of fully capable owners that handle routine maintenance themselves.

Carmax provides you online with their "Autocheck" to verify if the vehicle they are selling has been in any accidents or had ongoing issues, etc. Be sure to also pay to get a Carfax on it as well.

We've purchased from Carmax in the past and were told by a neighbor to always check both Autocheck and Carfax. We were looking to purchase a vehicle from Carmax as it had no indication of an accident on Autocheck. However, upon paying for the Carfax we discovered it had been in a serious front end collision...and then we Googled the VIN where we were surprised to find pictures of the wrecked, undriveable vehicle on an auction website with pictures of the wrecked vehicle being sold for parts but obviously it had been repaired, sold at auction and then was being sold by Carmax. It was a car from Pennsylvania being sold in Texas. Caveat emptor!

I see you do have the Carfax...nice job doing your homework!
"IF" that happened/is found to have been that case. SIMPLY return or place a call to Carmax and they Will take care of Everything!
