Shout out to this forum and College Hills Honda - Ordered and received the Homelink mirror in a couple days. Trip to my favorite body shop and they clicked the new mirror in place - in minutes - for free. Only thing the 2026 Passport is really missing.

It‘s an accessory because Honda want you to use the MyQ and force you to pay for the Honda link subscription. I will put my trusty old hand held clicker in my center console. Not spending $300 plus on a button to open a garage.

You did good then - my dealer had no mirrors in stock and said they were on national backorder. Then when I bought the new Honda mirror and presented it in the Honda part box it came in - they refused to install customer supplied parts. Did get free front doors window tint. And as stated above got the mirror installed free at a body shop. All is well that ends well.

I keep going back and forth on this one. For now, the button on the visor works and when I'm driving, I have my doors set up with Siri so I just press the steering wheel button and tell Siri to open the door.

Use a trim to and pry around where the bottom and top trim connect. Get your fingers under and it Should snap off. Old mirror removes by twisting where it mounts to the glass

I ended up just enabling Siri on my phone to open my Geni Garage doors. I find myself using it more than the Homelink buttons in my Ridgeline. No need to program it for the PP. Just press the talk button on the steering wheel and give the command

I would wager that the vast majority of dealers do not disconnect the battery either. Honda wants you to do it when you install the light on the lift gate as well. Time to go lick the fuzz off my battery terminals.

I have a question about this. I did consider this as an add-on that I would do myself post-purchase, however, after thinking about it, I decided that I didn't want thieves to have a key to my house, if they get into the vehicle. My question is, is the Homelink feature powered on while the vehicle is off, or does the vehicle need to be powered on for it to work. Upon more thought, since the 2026 Passport is push-button start, will the Homelink be powered on only with ignition or with Accessory, as well. Thank you!

Another option (since I didn't want to cough up $300+ for the HomeLink mirror) is to buy something like a meross Smart Garage Door Opener Remote (I can't post links, so search for it on Amazon) if you own legacy garage door openers. That device will integrate with your smart home assistant of choice (I use Apple HomeKit) such that you can open your garage doors via your phone or, better yet, by saying, "Hey Siri, open the garage door." It's also nice because I can close my garage doors from anywhere that I have my phone.

I installed two of them myself (it was easier to do that to try to faff with a second wiring harness) and they haven't missed a beat.

And no worries at all about someone breaking into your vehicle and opening your garage!
