At the end of the day, I don’t think you can go wrong with either vehicle. They are all very capable in their own ways. I kinda wish I got the Outback since it has stop and go adaptive cruise control. I get stuck in stop and go traffic for half hour to an hour 2 days a week and it would make me much happier that I don’t need to press on the gas pedal for that long.

I'm toying with the idea of getting myself a new (er) daily driver/Mt bike hauler as my PP/TS is really my wife's ride. The Outback is a possibility but I'm liking the Hyundai Santa Cruz except I'm hearing bad things about the D.C.T. in the higher end turbo models. I hear Subaru may bring back a new version of the Baja so I'll probably wait and see what that looks like. Potential renderings look great.

Ah, car shopping, fun times. Enjoy! I had a dual-clutch in the 2018 Q5, it was excellent, but yea I've heard negatives over the years about the Hyundai version of that. Plus Audi's dual-clutch needed fairly regular and pricey maintenance but it was included in the Audi care that I purchased with the lease. Not sure if Hyundai needs the same level of attention. My dad has a new Tucson, seems like a decent car. It's not top trim level, but I think mid-grade.

Yea the Santa Cruz is basically a Tucson with a open bed. The lower trim non turbo models come with a traditional torque converter transmissions and appear solid though abit underpowered. I'm in no hurry, gonna pay off the Passport first and see what Subaru and Mazda offer to compete. Mabey by then Hyundai will solve the D.C.T. transmissions issues or switch it to a torque converter transmission.
