Some of these acronyms have become more "friendly" from what I remember over the years. 😁😁

We have a '19 PP and I'm pretty sure it has the exact same 3.5L V6 as the Pilot & Ridgeline of that same generation. It is impossible for me to believe that Honda would make a different 3.5 for each model, as that would make no financial sense whatsoever.
We have almost 50k on ours and are experiencing no issues...so far...
I wonder how the dealership would "inspect" for a rod bearing failure, aside from listening?
I found this today.

Thank you.🍻Blackstone Labs will be a small fee to pay for the knowledge of what's going on/not going inside. o_O

Don't want any kaboom 💣happening.

I've has 17 and 23 Ridgelines and a 20 Passport. They all make a the same noise. Sometimes its more pronounced in the cabin than others. I was really annoyed with noise in the 17 Ridgeline, I looked at all the videos I could find and it all goes back to 2014 MDX's so IMO Honda knows the real deal. From all that I read there was only one person that got a fix and it was something with bearing caps, I guess he had a good dealer.

Perhaps this new inquiry is for something completely different but IMO it's all related. The port injected V6 that I had in the Accord felt like perfection without the direct injectors and the sometimes noisy high pressure fuel pump.

This article from November 2023 explains the reason the recall was initially limited to specific vehicles. May be changing under the new investigation? TBD.

Appreciate the info, thanks. I am with the others since Passport 2020 owner and also 2018 Odyssey owner and also thinking same engines used. Getting frustrated with all the recalls and some of recent ones are still open since parts are not available. Thinking recall would prompt quick fixes(?)

This is classic Honda and a reminder why I don’t plan to return (as nice as their cars are). They will play pretend and drag their feet until consumers give the fuck up, sell their cars, and it goes to the next owners who will take them a while to notice, and just keep doing that until the end.

I’ve been buying Hondas since 1997, I know their game and its gotten far worse in the last 15 years.

I bought 5 Japan produced Hondas. My 1999 Civic = Best car I ever owned! Seems making them in "Alabama" = BIG Mistake. Our buying this American made vehicle could be our BIGGER mistake !!
Why would making them in Alabama be a big mistake?

Yep, slow walk everything and run out the clock. I have a Honda Ridgeline and there has been an issue with the fraying wires that go through the tailgate. First is was a denial outside warranty then it was a recall with an improved part that still failed. Now on my 10 month old Ridgeline there is yet another cable recall of which the parts still aren't available. This problem goes back to 2017. What Honda does is they'll wait until the next generation to fix an issue. I think with Toyota you have a better chance of fixes rolling out quicker and I like that Tundra owners are getting new engines. Older CRV's back in 2002 had A/C compressor issues. I remember getting a letter about reimbursement years after I sold the car. This puts the dealers in a bad spot because they take direction from Honda.

Alabama has had issues that they unfortunately can't get under control. Crappy welds on doors leading to leaks and rust, my brand new Ridgeline has stickers upside down, extra poverty covers sitting on the seat, extra door bolt wedged on the seat, leaky cabs, all of which are from sloppy assembly. The Japanese built Acuras were bullet proof and even the some of the domestic CRV's were ok but in my family there were lots of Honda and Acuras over 20 or so and all the Japanese ones were trouble free but some time after 2014, something changed so bullet proof reliability we were accustomed to was no longer a layup.
