"Donut" Spare tire - beware

Since my Passport is a little over a year old I decided to check the spare tire air pressure. Once I got it out it was at 47psi so I aired it to the recommended 60psi. But here's the issue. The wing nut that holds the tire in place was screwed in so tight I had to use a channel lock to loosen it. There was no way I could loosen it by hand. Upon replacing the tire, I found that the wing nut must be tightened down completely to avoid the possibility of the tire rattling when driving over a large bump or other extremely uneven road surface. To tighten it down completely, once again I could not do it by hand but used a pair of pliers. The pliers are now kept in the under floor storage bin.

Yes, I flipped mine, in each of my Honda/Acuras.
I bought an inline threaded connector (I don't remember the diameter) and a 4" bolt.
I cut the head off the bolt and connected the inline connector to the original bolt and the cut bolt.
This contraption allows me to tighten the spare into place and access its valve.

I find the space of the flipped spare useful for junk lol. One of said junk is a tire inflator.

Below is the compressor I got. It's nice because it has the auto-shutoff feature so I can multitask. Only had it since January so not quite sure on reliability just yet, but it has been used a handful of times already. I don't think it's very accurate so I overload the tire and release to the correct pressure.

Sweet. Good looking out!
