If you are lucky enough to be able to see one of the new Passports (any trim) in person, could I ask that you measure the height of the cargo area?
Honda has claimed in their advertising that due to increased cargo space, the new Passport can fit two mountain bikes in the back. We have a reservation for one but dealer says it will not arrive for a few weeks. Really want to find out if bikes will fit.
The measurement that is critical is the height from the cargo load floor to the headliner right near the wheel well. I am assuming that with the new squared off profile the height should be fairly constant right across the width of the vehicle.
If someone could put a tape on this height it would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Have a look at this official Honda video, which shows them fitting one mountain bike in the back. There is other stuff stored in the back of the Passport in the video.

With seats folded and nothing else in the rear you probably could fit tow bikes but you'd have to remove the front wheels, as per the Honda press release document

After my online research, and executing several variations of builds, I currently have no desire to get a '26. My '23 EX-L is much better looking, even with stock wheels.

Almost all advertisements were focused only showcasing the Trailsport Elite. With the accessories also shown on those advertising platforms, the build I created came to $55k.

That's $55k with no lift, same motor, same mpg, and an undesirable appearance.

We'll see if my strong opinion changes after I view it in person at the Cleveland Auto show very soon.

Don’t need to wait for Cleveland Auto show. Go to your local dealership to see in person.

I Agree! I just purchased a new /old generation black edition for $8500 below sticker. I will never take it off road. I personally dont like the 'trail" theme and hate the new interior set up with the touchscreen sticking up like that. So, I wanted to snag the new old gen while they are still around, at a nice discount.

I get that the new model is more expensive, but "undesirable appearance"? To me it looks way better then outgoing model, but that is also subjective.

The new design certainly isn't bad looking but given the option i still prefer the look of the outgoing model. I do like that shelf/table and the extra cubbies in the cargo area though.
The storage in the back wastes a lot of space. I wish they had given the extra plastic cubbies as an add-on. The old Passport only had the wheel wells in the way. The new Passport gained some extra storage with the vertical rear window, but it lost storage with those plastic cubbies on each side. A really large flat screen TV being purchased or other wide items might not fit in the new Passport.

Agree, honestly the old model looks like a compacted minivan.

I think people will use the plastic cubbies way more than the one time they use it to buy a tv.

Can’t disagree more. The outgoing model appearance is way more undesirable.

Unfortunately he doesn't drive the PP because it's already sold, but here's the first review of the new TS Elite

Couple of nitpicky things but...the rear turn signals aren't LED again? I know, I know - easy to replace but c'mon Honda. Also kinda weird to see reflector headlights on a new model. And what's with the poverty buttons / empty button bank on the left of the dash?

Overall, I like it. Small things and worse fuel economy irk me a bit but looking forward to seeing it in person either way.

If you look at that video portion you mentioned, you can see that the bike seat is is so low it's about right for a 8 year old.
That's why I am so interested in the interior cargo height. A normal adult seat height would be way higher than that.
The old CRV's (2015 vintage) would fit the bike upright. But since then, the sloping back roof trend has made it impossible. Even the current Pilot is to short in the back.
The Bronco (full size) fits bikes nicely, that's my hope for the new Passport.

Since the outgoing model never sold well the public agrees with you.
I think the lower sales of the outgoing model isn't about the looks. The main issue is the fact that it occupied a slot between the CR-V and the Pilot that most buyers do not consider as suitable for their needs. The folks that want better MPG go for the CR-V or Rav4 while those that want something bigger than compact SUV go for the Pilot or Highlander.

Honda is aware of the difficulty buyers are having at justifying buying a Passport, that's part of the reason for this new Passport is being aimed at adding a new buyer demographic.
