I added the same 20% ceramic tint today to the front windows and moonroof. It matches the back glass perfectly...

 

I was considering doing the moonroof as well but I usually just keep the sun closed.

 

Here in Tucson, AZ I was still getting a bunch of heat radiating through the moonroof even with the cover closed. There doesn't seem to be much insulation in that cover. The 20% ceramic tint claims a 72% reduction in heat transmission. We'll soon see...

 

Every vehicle I've had since 1985 has had tinted windows and had reduced heat radiating, especially in south Florida.
Now days with better ceramic tinting are much more reducing heat radiating,

I was gong to ask, about your roof glass as to less heat radiating but you answered before I asked you and I do believe tinting the roof glass would help reduce heat radiating,
Also it is not just the heat but the sun UV bleaching and cracking your interior.

 

20% tint here too a couple days after purchase - even matches your Sonic Gray.

 

I also went the 20% ceramic tint route with 50% ceramic on the sunroof. I had him add ceramic tint behind the factory tint.

 

I had the back tint measured. It’s 13%. I went with 35 in the front and I feel like it’s too dark. Everything is subjective of course.

 

Because in NYC tints are illegal in the front windows I had to go 35% hoping that they don't pull me over for it because 20% would be too dark. I did do a 20% sunshade, I should've went with 5%

 

I have 35% on my Hyundai here in NJ. I got pulled over on the NJ Turnpike by a State trooper for it. However, I planned ahead and had a suncreening exemption from the DMV signed by my eye doctor. When he asked if I had trouble with oncoming headlights at night I replied, "Why yes...yes I do"
Anyway, the trooper seemed surprised that I had the exemption and after checking everything, I was on my way in 5 minutes with no ticket.
Maybe NY has something similiar you could pursue? In NJ, there was no fee for it. How unllike NJ.
