I just finished installing the Honda Roof Racks from Bernardi (Part# 08L02-TGS-100). I bought the Yakima Timberline towers and the Jetstream crossbars and I'm ready to install them across the roof racks. My question is: How far the crossbars should be from each other? Also, where exactly should I installing across the roof racks? I will be using the bars to transport two kayaks with Malone folding Jaylow mounts for reference. I appreciate if anybody share their experiences with this type of system. Thank you!

I installed the Honda crossbars, if you’ll notice on the inside of the roof rails, there are dimples on the inside for placement. I guess this is suggestive, cause the Honda crossbars are adjustable almost the full length of the roof rails and one of the only adjustable ones I’ve noticed on the market.

I noticed the dimples! The separation between dimples is 24". Yakima website technical info selection page said that the cross bars should be 44" apart, basically from end to end at the roof bars. To add to the confusion, I spoke with a Yakima rep yesterday who told me that my Yakima Jaylow system for kayaks should be 30" apart and he suggested the installation 15" from the center of the roof bars to each side. That is how I ended up installing it but when I compared with the pics from Yakima, the location are way off. Anybody else have installed cross bars and would like to share your experience?
