Wireless phone charger doesn’t work anymore

My wireless phone charger worked when I first got my Passport but, now the IPhone 8 goes into charge mode then drops out to charge mode.
Seems strange to cable up the IPhone 8 to do its charging when one of the “Elite” options is the wireless charger.
I would think the inability to charge up a IPhone 8 wirelessly should be a warranty issue?
Anyone else having this same issue?

I have tried a Samsung S7 and S9 with the same results.. It will start charging and then the light flashes. Both are in commercial cases, but both are wirelessly charged at home??????
According to the manual if the charging light is flashing it means the phone is not correctly positioned on the charging pad. Unfortunately, almost all phones will cover the charging light if positioned correctly on the pad. My S8 will charge slowly if left centered on the charging pad, if I move it up or to the right so I can see the charging light it will go from solid green to flashing within a very short period of time.
our 2019 isn't charging either. we've taken to the dealership and they stated taken off the phone case. Doesn't work, still no charge. $40,000 car that's feature is wireless charging..oh yeah, Honda is gonna make it work if they have to replace it with a unit from somewhere else that is known to work...headed for the lemon law..
As has been stated elsewhere, many phones are so large they'll cover the green indicator light - making it difficult to determine if the light is steady (charging).
Play with repositioning the phone and it'll likely work for you.
I have the same issue. It has to be JUST RIGHT or it stops charging. I've given up, it's not worth the time spent trying to find the exact spot and correct angle to make it work.

I don't' bother using the wireless charger on my phone since it's not a fast charger; I'll only use it to charge my earbuds; I also always have my phone connected via USB, which defeats the purpose of a wireless charger.

My son used the wireless charger in mine a few times. Worked fine on his Samsung. Couldn't see the green light but when he put the phone down the screen came on got a beep from the phone and a charging symbol poped up on the screen.
I turned mine off in the settings and I noticed it was back on. Since I connect the cable for CarPlay I don’t want it. I’m worried that it’s going to cause a problem because the cable is often between my phone and the pad.

That’s more of a smoking gun as opposed to root cause. Considered a red herring too. Not really about phone size. Trying to keep this on track.

Have you called the dealer re the issue? Also keep in mind the iPhone 8 has wireless charging issues.

This is very much on track. Due to the poor location of the indicator button many phones - when placed properly - will cover this light.
Trial and error showed me where to place my phone for wireless charging. Hopefully this light location will be moved in a future redesign.

Implement a strategy / redefine and redeploy - again form factor is not an issue - the light is ambient and current effective. Firmware for phone is suspected
I know this is an old thread, but I cannot get the wireless charging to work for my iPhone XS Max. Tried it with and without a case. The green light comes on solid for a few seconds, then starts to blink and stops charging. Tried every position possible on the charging mat to no avail. This is for my 2020 Elite, made in Feb 2020, and purchased in April. The charging pad is useless! A complete failure on Honda’s part. Do they even test this stuff before production?? Has anyone had the pad replaced and resolved the issue?

Went to the dealer, they supposedly put phones on the charger and it worked, we didn't see that. they attitude is "If it's working badly, it's still working. can't sue Honda, Judge will state, "It does work. Just badly." What a scam.....Last Honda we buy....

I gave up on mine about a month ago and turned it off in the settings.

Doesn't it seem (now 2020 passport Elite) like this is a class action lawsuit now? Any Legal firms out there want to take up a cause against Honda Corporation for not providing Warranty Service? How many have paid the the phony bumper to bumper (third party) warranty along with Honda's ?
You gotta know Honda knows about this and is dodging it. Yeah, bad design, engineers aren't what they used to be. We bought a 2020 CRV Hybrid as well, and its wireless charger works perfect with any phone.

Could you explain where to find settings and how to turn off? Is there a benefit of turning off?
Thanka

In the setting menu: Vehicle / Wireless Charger / On or Off. I turned in off only so that should something else be placed there, it couldn't be effected by the charger. I highly doubt say placing my wallet there for some reason the charger would kill my credit cards. But, rather be safe than sorry.
