Hello all! I am currently at the dealership, dropping my 2020 PP Elite (1500 Miles) off for the following four concerns.

1. Drivers Side Headlight Condensation- (Water pooling inside headlight). Dealership took my word for it, ordered the part and is replacing it no questions asked.
2.Popping sound in front wheels- Common problem I have read on here. Dealer will inspect and try to replicate
3. Forward Collision warning going off on two lane roads- Another common issue i've read about on here, dealer is going to recalibrate my sensors. Not sure if this will work but may as well have them give it a shot.
4. Low Battery warning- I have gotten this twice in 1500 miles. Seems no reason for it to have gone off as both times I was in the act of driving.

My dealership Valley Honda in Aurora Il. is incredible on both sales and service. I have owned 7 hondas purchased from here and expect them to go above and beyond to handle these concerns. I will keep this updated with their responses and actions.

Hi,

I have not experienced the first two issues but am aware of 3 & 4.

#3 - Doubt they can do anything about it. It happens now and then - seems to be more common going around corners and meeting an oncoming car on 2 lane roads.

#4 - I have experienced this. In fact I had a totally dead battery the other day after leaving it sit for one day. Dealer couldn't find any fault but did the recall service to the gauge cluster while it was in. After that I get the low battery warning occasionally but no issues with it actually starting.

Last year, my PP sat for at least 11 days, when I was Europe and the battery was fine, so there has to be something going on...

Post service update:

1.Drivers Side head lamp replaced.
2. Unable to replicate popping noise. Checked all joints in front suspension and everything checked out. Will attempt to replicate again at first oil change.
3. All safety systems checked (diagnotic and test drive) with a clean bill of health. Was advised that the forward collision radar is wide an sensitive and getting a brake warning with on-coming traffic on two lane roads is common and Honda is aware of it. Was advised that keeping follow distance on the shortest setting will/can contribute to these false alarms.
4. Checked battery and it is strong. No error or warning codes in the system. The low battery warning happend twice in my first few hundred miles and not since. I am satified with this as it doesnt apprear to be a recurring issue.

Overall, I am happy with the service provided. I spoke with my service advisor and the technician that worked on the car today. No questions asked replacement of head light makes me feel good. I have heard many dealerships chalking this up to dramtic changes in temp, and not replacing. While i understand the logic in condensation being caused by temp changes, water in a headlight enclosure should not happen in the amount I had in there. Minimally all the concerns i ha e are documented with the dealer and Honda, which is never a bad thing if going forward the persist.

Congratulation! Re: item 2 - You are a member of the clunk club!

Search here for “clunk”. People have had their entire front end suspension replaced and still had the clunk! Personally, I went April 2019-February 2020 with it. Dealer couldn’t duplicate it and didn’t care. I have been going to a father and son Honda/Acura specialist since 2001 for service and repairs on most of my Honda’s, in February this year they did the first minor service at 6500 miles, tightened a few things up and I’ve never heard it again.

item #4, I’ve had low battery alerts since taking my Passport home, the first week the dealer said they replaced it. Stupid me didn’t put a mark on the battery to see if was actually replaced. Since then, I continue to get a low battery every few weeks. It’s been tested at two separate dealers and my Honda shop, it has tested strong always! I’ve contacted Honda and the dealer to test it at my garage when I’ve gone out and get the alert before starting it and bringing it to them again. I called both about 6 times in three days the last time I got the alert and they never cared. I eventually had to drive somewhere, so I quit caring and figure if it dies, they will have to pay for road side service or tow it!

That's exactly the response I figured I would get if I called them about the low battery warning so I am letting it go also. I noticed it does it most of the time when I put it in accessory mode before starting it.

They need to do something about the forward collision warning system. Mine goes off all the time, so I have to disable when I get in. I’m not near any cars and its flashing brake all the time and once it did brake around a corner. I was going slow and a car was coming and we never got close to each other. Just plain awful. I traded in a 2018 VW Tiguan that was junk but the forward collision worked flawlessly. The only thing that didn’t break.

I have also experiences the forward collision warning on a 2 lane road with oncoming traffic where the lanes are curving to my right and the warning goes off. I had a 2018 Accord which also had this sensor and didn't have this issue. Wonder what the differences are in the system other than the Passport is higher off the group. My 2016 Pilot doesn't have Honda sensing so I can compare it to that from the height perspective.
