I am struggling with just jumping in and picking up a 2020 Passport (which is unchanged from 2019?) or waiting for the 2021 "redesign" model.

I seem to come across mostly issues with the infotainment system, but apart from "bugs" that can or should be fixed via software, what do you actually wish was different about the current passport?

We're only March, and who knows what they'll do for 2021 but some things on my mind are:

  • Panoramic sunroof - current car has it, and the passport seems so small especially given the overall size. Also for car camping would be nice to be able to look up at the sky!
  • Better off-road trim (improved ground clearance, better wheels+tires, skid plates, etc.) - I hate the price premium of the car and then the extra expense to do those mods

My crystal ball says (other than a continued price increase) there will be no changes made to the 2021 PP.
Can you wait for the 2022?
I mean, technically I could... but I also want to upgrade my car... yesterday :) I really want to be adventure-ready for the summer! Opportunity cost and all

I saw somewhere that showed the schedule for the Honda lineup and I think both the Passport and Pilot are slated for "redesign" in 2021?

Honda generally runs on a 5 year production run, they seldom deviate.
Come the 4th year they'll offer meek changes, a different paint option or two. Minor cosmetic changes, but basically the same exact car.

As far as the current run of complaints (radio cables being damaged during installation) they'll eventually fix those as they run 'em thru the factory.

So I wonder if I just bite the bullet, do the mods, and move on... or stand on the sidelines waiting for the news of any changes (or other cars coming out!)

Wouldn't that be 2023? I was thinking Honda was on a 5 year schedule for redesign.

I realize that where you reside, math problems should be in story form such as:

If Cletus has 3 jars of shine and Jethro takes 2 of them, how many jars of shine does Cletus have left?

Answer: 3, cause Cletus done shot Jethro and got his all his shine back.

On a side note The passport will hold 20 quart ball mason jars in the storage compartment under the back deck. I know, I tried it already.

My guess is that the next Passport redesign will be a year AFTER the next Pilot one.

Cars are just like cell phones, TV's and computers, future models are bound to be better, but in all this excitement, I kinda lost track, so you have to ask your self one question:

"Do I feel lucky?"

Oops not that question, this one: "How long are you willing to wait?"

As with many, I would like smaller wheels to be available as an option at least. I have also found that I would really like to have a rear opening back hatch window like I had on my Pilot. Was great for putting something in the back real quickly without having to open the whole Hatch.

I wish the passenger seat had height adjustment like the driver's seat. If it did, my mom might not have had as much trouble getting in. Since it doesn't, I added the running boards and she says they help.

You can wait or not. what are you in a hurry to get? What is it you wish to wait for? I have a friend who uses this scenario to not make a decision. It is effective till push and shove come together. then he makes a mistake.
