Did a dry run/test hitching the overland camper trailer we're renting for our first Passport camping trip. Great idea for a thread, btw.

@Scooter Dude, the Passport handled like a dream. Bear in mind, this is a very light trailer, probably about 1200 lbs as loaded. 75mph over the Grape Vine was a cinch.

@Scooter Dude I just put mine on as well, then as soon as I saw the way they looked, immediately went online and got my custom plates ordered! I'll have to change my screen name to ADVPASS soon!

Excellent, thanks! Mine didn't come with the bins and I do like them.. @Scooter Dude , Congrats on getting a freeby! The rear seat covers are a must, I think I'll be ordering them straight away.

@DudeCS I'm looking at the seat back protectors, and I was curious if there was any installation issues. Thanks for the info on the cutter. I assume it's for cleanly making the hole in the carpet. I'd be curious to hear your experiences with the install.

Just got the Amazon delivery of my rear door tent widows. They seemed I little silly, but I thought I'd give them a shot and I actually think they're going to be handy! This way when I'm car camping, I can have a breeze without worrying about creepy crawlies or light rain. They fit the Passport really well.

Do they make a sunroof "screen" that you can vent your sunroof and insert a small screen in that also?

I haven't seen anything for the sun roof, but I agree that it would be useful. I'm thinking it might be an easy DIY project. Hmmmmmm.....

Today, I got my Overland Bound badge installed and recieved my 30" light bar in the mail. Measuring to cut up my lower grill and planning to CNC some custom mounting brackets this weekend.

This is just a quick dry fit, I'll be insetting the lights into and flush with the lower grill.

In preparation for an upcoming camping trip, I finally got my Yakima roof box out of storage and fitted it to the AdvPass. Also mounted my recovery boards and a new awning system that was inspired by one of @Jondz YouTube videos.

Today was skid plate day! The boys at JSport USA just got the official Passport skid plate back from the powder coater and I was able to pick one up.

Jordan was kind enough to meet me to drop off the plate in one of the JSport Passports. I like that the first Passport I saw "in the wild" was trimmed out similar to mine.

The install is 6 bolts and was done in 20 minutes. Nice piece, well thought out and surprisingly light.

Barely any at all. The rear portion that is parallel to the ground bolts flush to the cover plate the extends under the middle of the Passport. You're really only losing the thickness of the plate itself, which to my eye is 1/8" aluminum (I didn't get out the calipers).

With CA sales tax it was just under $400. I did the install myself with 2 sockets and an Allen wrench and I was able to pull up on a curb to get enough room to work under the car.

It couldn't have been easier. Remove 6 factory bolts and replace them with the supplied hardware.

The plate is light enough that I could easily hold it with one hand while lining everything up and installing the bolts.

...I can't reach the roof to dry it even when I stand in the seats and hold onto the roof rack!

@ProdGirl , I've been using these little aluminum steps that clip onto your door latch for easy access to the roof. They're cheap, strong, and stow perfectly in the back door pocket. They might help.
