Hey all, new to the forum! First off I've never loved a vehicle more than I love my 21 PP EXL. Only thing i dont like is EVERY time i go from P to D or R to D within the first 10mph i hear what sounds like a very suttle pop/thump noise coming from the rear. Anyone have any experience with this? 5,400 miles

i have the same sound in my 1k miles 2022 passport elite.. i also had the same sound in my 2015 mustang.. it’s just rough shifting.. the nature of the beast i suppose .. luckily my mustang went 70k miles with no transmission issues, so if honda is one of the most reliable manufacturer, everything should be fine and nothing to worry about.

Is it something that should happen every time? I dont see the ABS or feel it going off
In my experience I have had this go off on all my vehicles, it’s more noticeable as the vehicle accumulated a little more miles. It’s a solid thunk sound when you start driving off and reach about 10 miles per hour or so. It’s normal, it’s not the ABS itself going off, but the system checking itself I believe. It’s pretty consistent after every startup and never happens again throughout the drive until you turn off the car and then turn it on again the next time.

Yes! You described it to a T. Only having a little over 5k miles when should i expect the noise to stop?

I have a 2019 AWD Touring w/27k miles and it has never made the sort of noise you are referring to. A noise at 10 mph is not normal. I suggest having the dealer or a trusted independent shop take it for a drive.

Yep same sound, 2019 ridgeline, Odyssey, I hear it when engines start as well almost sounds like motor mount is loose...
