Anyone have any idea on the weight difference between these two rims? I'm just trying to get an idea for how much I'd be changing the rotational weight with different tire sizes with the 18 x 8 RL rims I have coming in...

'Just noticed that the info posted in this thread are for EX-L (running smaller 20x8.0) rather than Touring or Elite with larger 8.5 wheel. Assuming a tire weight of 29.8lbs for the OEM Continentals in EX-L's 245/50 size, that's about 34.2 per EX-L wheel. Adding 6% for larger Touring/Elite 8.5" wheel size would be approx 36.2lbs (not sure if the diff designs, etc. for the trims add/subtract much weight though), compared to about 26.5lbs per OEM Ridgeline 18" wheel.

So bottom-line about 10lbs less per wheel if switching over to the 18" RL wheels compared to OEM 20" wheels. Does this sound about right?

Oh, I don't know about that...

A Ridgeline is a Passport is a Pilot, basically. Close to the same weight. ("close"...)

And it's not like a Ridgeline is a 3/4- or 1- ton pickup. I'm sure somebody will prove me wrong, but I see holes in the theory. :)

Well less my theory than the numbers provided in that other post (only that +6% adjustment on my part) :) I have no idea whether those weights provided are accurate, but if they are...looks like about a 10b difference between the two wheels. I agree that seems more than I would expect, maybe someone else can confirm or not those weights :)

Yes but it's a 1/2 ton truck and it has a bed and can haul weight.... You can't dump a bucket of stone from a loader in the back of your passport.....

I don't see how you came up with a 10lb difference between the 8" vs 8.5" wide wheels. I could be wrong but I'd be surprised if it's that much.

Update: the 2G Ridgeline wheels I ordered/just had installed weigh approx 27lbs 11oz, while the OEM Elite wheels that were removed weigh in at 34lbs 11oz, so approx 7 lb difference. New tire weight (Cooper Discoverer AT3 4s 265/60/18) is 41lbs compared to 27lbs for OEM CrossContacts 265/45/20, so overall weight difference per wheel/tire after the switch is +7lbs.
