Two black rubber plugs in glovebox

Does anyone know what the two rubber plugs in the glovebox are for. About 1.5 inches X 1 inch. They look like they would fill holes in sheet metal.

I'm curious to know also, since there were no rubber plugs in my glovebox.

If they are on the side, I think that is what you remove to drop the glove compartment to access the cabin filter.
