Car wash by me today, and I noticed the trim piece on the tailgate has a bigger separation on the passenger side, vs., driver side.

Has anyone else noticed this? If so, have you found a fix or just dealt with it.

Because of my OCD and boredom, this is now my biggest problem today! 🤣

Does it feel loose?
Not lose on the tailgate, but the front bumper one has a little give, maybe 1/8-1/4”.
The front at least sits level. So I forget about it until I dry it after washing it.

Take it to the dealership for replacement. Mine is going in for a list of issues and one being the trim separation at the base of driver side door. My dealership just need to order a new trim piece and they’re replacing.
I might look into that when I get back next month. I truly dread taking it to the dealer for anything. My issue usually becomes something bigger.

Keep me posted with how your trim piece replacement turns out.

I’ve got the same issue on my rear gate trim piece. I noticed it months ago and just thought the foam strip was coming out. Just looked at it and my left side is about 1/8” or so off and moves up and down. Possibly a clip has worked itself out.

So it’s officially a thing.,,let me know if you take yours in before I am able to and what they say, and even if you get a copy of the work order. I have to educate my dealer on the littlest of everything when it goes in. Although with them being closed for 2+ months maybe they will hire people who actually know the mechanics of Honda’s?

I’ll get it there one day as I also have the crackle issue and the alignment thing I never had looked at either.

Whats up with your alignment issue?
And isn’t it sad we have a fantastic vehicle and warranty but so many of us dead the dealership!

It’s always pulled to the right and the steering wheel is off center to the right.

I don’t really dread the dealership. I dread the time to drop it off and pick it up. That and Im single so I have to bother one of my princesses (daughters) or a friend to get me.

That’s not good and you’ll go thru your tires quicker,

See if they can get you a rental?
That‘s at least a few hours (yet 1-2 day) job for dealers.

Hey Ken. I tried that on the front and back piece and it just popped back off. Also, there is another piece of trim inside the tailgate where tab had broken off. I’ll take these petty little issues over the year bigger ones others have any day.

Hope all is well with you and your family!

Hmmmm . . . Our PP's are too new to let these little annoyances drive you crazy. Can your guys at your PP speciality place take a look at it?

All is well here in PA. Everyone is chewing the rug with wanting to get out and go to a restaurant, get a haircut and have a drink at a bar. Our dictator governor is rapidly becoming unelectable.

Hope you are well too. Have done any more homeschooling with your little relatives in Nevada?

Great news that all is well with you. Just start drinking at home and appreciate all the money you save.

Yeah, our vehicles being just one year old is why I’m more annoyed about it than anything. Plus a little bit of boredom.

I know my Honda guys could get a new tab for the inside of the tailgate, they did that on my CRV a couple times, they might even keep a cup of them! Not sure about that trim piece. It’s worth an ask when I get back.

Thankfully I’m working out of town and not home until possibly 3-4 more weeks. We are working, but way too much time off and I am not used to that. So hence the boredom. It’s still much better than what it was before a few weeks ago wasting away in my tiny apartment.

My kindergarten nephew officially graduated last week. So hopefully never ever again will we have to homeschool him or his brother. That was awful. 🤣

I think your dictator governor is related to ours! Lots of things are opening, but not everything. I have myself a haircut a couple weeks ago. The guys I’m working with and some I have known for 20 years have got a serious situation going on!

Take care, hang in there - this is the last inning...hopefully!

Hi Heather, My wife and I are competing to see who can go the longest until we have to gas up again. She keeps a record in her Lincoln MKC of how many gallons, the price, and date. She gassed up on February 13th and paid $2.85 per gallon. I don't keep such detailed records but it was an early gas up, also in February at a Sam's Club pump. I think she wins. We alternate driving our respective cars to the grocery store (masks are now console equipment) to keep the batteries charged. So far, so good. Ken P.S. My wife gave me a trim when I threatened to do it myself. It won't be too soon until I can get a real haircut.
