I'm really disappointed with honda.

I have a new Honda Passport 2020 that I bought back in February 2021.

the car was having some issues turning on again after stopping at the traffic lights (after the auto-off run).

I took it to routine maintenance (oil change) and asked them to check. They said there was nothing and the battery was ok, and they asked me to record it if it happened again.
So I did this and took it to the honda yesterday. They said they would have to change the connectors and that the car would be ready the same day, then they said it would take a little longer, and I would have to pick it up today at noon. Then, they called me saying that the car had a problem with the ignition too and I could only pick it up at 4 pm, and now I've been informed that the vehicle has a problem with the transmission and it's not safe to drive it, so they're going to give me a spare car until they solve this problem. (That would be around October 19th, which is when the part would arrive for them.)

How can a 0km car have so many problems and serious problems in such a short time?
I opted for the honda because it was a brand with high reliability... I hope the car comes back without any noise or without any problem.

It is under warranty, and I have had an extended warranty for a total of 7 years.
Has anyone used the warranty of severe problems like this?

I have a 2020 Passport that I bought in August of 2020. The only problem I had was the passenger side head lamp failed. I traded in a 2018 VW Tiguan that was nothing but trouble. I’ve had mine over a year and only had to make one unscheduled stop, so I’m really happy with that. The VW had its transmission out before its first oil change.

This is what I found odd. I have never seen any reports of problems with these honda transmissions, I must be "very lucky" indeed

Mine had a similar problem. Idle off started up then turned off then started up again. It never had issues when I turned that feature off. I have replaced my battery (I had one warning to turn off accessories while parked so knew it had issues) and the problem has not returned. But mine is a couple of years and 46k miles old.

+1 I had a similar "start up experience" several days ago after leaving my 2020 Passport in the garage for about 10 days, only driving it in and out of the garage for some cleaning during that time (= no longer drives to recharge battery). It was hard for me to believe that the battery could drain from just this, but indeed it had. I put my Battery Minder trickle charger on it on Sunday, and only this morning was it finally back up to a full/"maintaining" charge. After an hour or two reading up on this forum (just Search for 'battery'), it's clear that I'm going to have handle this vehicle very differently than my older vehicles that could sit for weeks without issues. These newer vehicles with all their electronics apparently draw the battery down much more quickly. I already had a good Lithium jump starter (which started my Passport up easily/quickly by the way), but that will now be going under the front seat or glove box rather than the rear storage where I had it since that seemed a cooler location for the lithium batteries (rear gate won't open to access it without power, or at least no way I could see). And as others have done, that trickle charger will be going on whenever the vehicle is sitting more than a day or two.

'Not thrilled about having to "baby" this vehicle/battery in this way....wish a higher-capacity battery was provided/an option. But everything is a tradeoff, and apparently this is an issue not limited to just Hondas...

The video you posted seems like a failing battery. This is a known problem. It's not a transmission problem.

Good point about tailgate and getting to battery when battery dead. I hadn't considered that. I can get there from back seat but clearly not easy. I wish there was under seat storage in 2nd row of seats for a few things like this that should be kept cool/covered.

My Passport sits in the garage for 2 weeks or more and I never had any battery problems.

Well that's good to know. Do you typically lock the doors when you leave it for these extended periods? Some posts have suggested this makes a difference...
I never lock it in the garage. I will say when I picked it up my passport had just come in and the salesmen told that they checked the battery. I thought that was strange since it was so new.

Picked up my PP a week ago. Idk how long it was sitting on the lot but took three nights of hooking up to a battery tender to fully charge the battery. I think these batteries either were not charged upon delivery or the car has so many computers that it drains the battery quickly.
