2019 EX-L with 10k miles. First owner.

I've noticed lately that the car seems to be in the wrong gear. I'll accelerate, on a normal flat road, from roughly 20mph to 40mph and all of a sudden the car is revving really high but not gaining speed. Eventually it jerks forward and all is well.

I stopped using ECO mode about 4 months ago because of a similar feeling.

Has anybody else experienced this or have any insight into what the issue may be?

I've noticed that when I drive my 2019 in an "extra spirited" manner (not smoothly) and I accelerate quickly to a predetermined speed and then let off the accelerator it will "hang" in gear as it decides to shift up or down as the demand for acceleration suddenly disappeared. When it "hangs in gear" it tends to be in lower gear and seems to rev high for a few or even several seconds, then upshifts one or two gears.

I believe this is symptomatic, in my case at least, of the transmission computer having to make a change in the shift pattern it was going to use based on my inputs. That it was going to hold the gear longer as I wanted to accelerate quickly because I had the accelerator mashed to the floor, then suddenly I have zero accelerator demand as I got to the speed I wanted (or made the move I needed to, finished the pass, just wanted to go fast and dump the change out of the center console slot.) In any case, I believe the transmission was working properly, just slowly, as it is programmed.

Does this sound like yours? Are you giving it a good shot of gas, then lifting?

Yes, I've noticed this driving my 2020 EX-L. Anyone think there is a "fix" for this issue...maybe a software issue?
It is sometimes shifting rather weird. Mine would upshift when demanding accelerating just lug the engine. Also the kick down is very sluggish sometimes doesn't kick down at all when throttle pedal is pressed all the way.
Just how they programmed the software in order to prolong the life of the transmission.

Thank you, but I have not had luck in using the method you describe. The PP will usually go back into "D" in about 5 seconds. I will try it again though. I like using "S" mode because the center dash will indicate what gear the transmission is in and I can select any gear I want and have the PP stay in that gear. This gives me precise control of the gears. For example, when I want to accelerate quickly from a stop, using "S" mode the PP takes off in 1st gear rather than 2nd. I can then shift through the gears manually.
