Bought my Passport in May and worked a hitch in the deal. They installed the trans cooler and hitch but not the harness or hatch sensor bracket they said were on national back order.
I need my trailer and couldn’t wait and was able to locate a harness but still can’t find the bracket.
Anyone know a place that has one on the shelf?
Found one available on eBay but at checkout says they can’t complete the transaction

The pandemic has caused shortages in every area of life these days. While it would be nice to have the hatch sensor, unlike the other items require for towing, the sensor or hands free opening hatch actually isn't required. It is going to take some time for world wide manufacturing to catch up. Your best bet is to call any and every Honda Dealer you can find and see if they have one in stock. Over at the Pilot Forum a member just recently had the same situation with a different part that is on national backorder. The found one at a small dealership a couple hundred miles away.

Sadly you may have to wait a few months for the last piece of the puzzle if none are available, or you could check Carparts.com to see if there is a wrecked Passports somewhere that you could get a used one from.

Some time ago I contacted BROSE, the manufacturer of the Honda Handsfree Liftgate sensor rods. I was investigating the opportunity to purchase the shortened sensors in bulk, and then sell them to Passport, Pilot, & Odyssey owners at a significantly lower price than Honda charges for their 08L91-TGS-100A or 08L91-TG7-100C or 08L91-THR-100A kits. The actual shortened sensor rods are described HERE, and pictured HERE. The Passport kit's included plastic bracket is exact same as OEM long sensor bracket, and kit's bracket has to be cut prior to installation . . . therefore OEM bracket could be likewise cut and installed with the short BROSE sensor rods. However, my inquiry to BROSE received the following email reply:

Dear Mr. 'P-A-N-D-A, LLC',

Thank you for your Procurement Logistics inquiry.

As a global supplier to the international automotive industry, the Brose Group does not have a spare parts business for wholesale distribution or direct to consumers, nor are our products available from auto parts retailers.

We hope you will understand that we are therefore unable to offer you technical support or direct assistance in wholesale purchasing outside of original manufacturers supply chain.

Best regards

I just bought a 2019 Passport Sport on Wed. evening. Had them order the hitch, trans cooler and wiring harness. Just got a call today that it was in already. This was from Pohanka Honda in Salisbury, MD if you're interested in contacting them. (They didn't order a hatch sensor but I think that's because my Passport doesn't have that feature.)
