Trailer Hitch Installation in stages?

2601 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  elysse77
If I want to install the hitch first, then come back and do the harness later, is that a problem? I just want the hitch for a bike rack and then maybe add the harness later down the road for a small trailer. Or is it better/easier to do it all in one go?

Stages will be fine.
If you go with an aftermarket hitch, it will be designed to come out from under your bumper, causing the receiver to be a little closer to the ground, than an OEM hitch, with its bumper cut out.
The trailer light cable harness can be after market also, look at e trailer dot com. I just got one, for$48
Our units arrived yesterday. First impression; aggressive looking. However it doesn't feel like it's sister the Pilot exterior wise.. interior.. well if you know the Pilot and Ridgeline share interior. I will say this the seats are more comfortable and it does have some minor changes to help separate it from the other two. Overall handling is tighter. I'm certain this is going to be a big contender in the larger 5 passenger segment!
