The back in black

Blacked out the rear today. 30 minute project, 10 of which was setting up the lettering. I cheated on the rear H, didn't follow our instructions exactly. I suspect the black front H for the Pilot would fit our Passports with little or no modification but didn't want to experiment, so opted for a 10 dollar piece of film.

The the film on the front mess with the sensors at all?
Looks good. I did the same to mine recently. Film is the way to go as the censors are hiding behind the front emblem. What film did you use?

Not at all

Nope I'm only covering the H right now. There's a temp sensor mounted right behind the H and a bit off to the side. The proximity sensors are visible down in the painted bumper area. The A line film avoids the whole windshield sensor/ camera area completely.

Cheapest shrink to fit! Amazon, eBay, one of them. I'm loyal to 3m usually but not today.

By chance is this the film you got?
I did 😄

I'm actually thinking about changing mine. It looks ok, but I managed to make tiny tears in a couple of places even though I was careful. Speaking with the seller hasn't been all that great either. He said he would send me another, but never did. I am thinking of trying Laminx instead.

The splotches that appear on the emblem are just reflections

EDIT: This magically appeared in my mailbox today. It's from the same eBay seller as above - DeliciousStickerCa. Props to him for going above and beyond and sending me a do-over.

Had that one at first thought it was too green looking in the sun. Maybe if the car was any other color but red it would be fine.
Didn't have any trouble installing either or with ACC. This one I just trimmed to the same shape and size.
Did I miss what you used to black out the rear stuff?

Replaced with our own parts.
The chrome looked out of place to me.

I saw somewhere here where someone thought the silver H in the center of the black wheels looked out of place. They are not bugging me yet, but I get it!
What instructions did you use for removal of the old stuff?
Estore.honda.com
What worked best for me based on what I had handy was 20lb fishing line. Still I snapped the first one. So 2 or 3 20" lengths should do. BTW the chrome lettering is in pretty much reusable condition, I kept it, dunno for what yet, lol.

You're gonna do it!
I definitely want to do it just scared to mess it up.

The lettering comes with templates, use a level on both the floor or ground and on the tail gate and then painters tape to secure the templates. I placed tape on all 4 sides of the old lettering before I removed it as well to make sure I used the same locations. Shop around, unfortunately shipping cost varies a lot!
