My wife is one of those "Essential" people working at a local hospital. She is on-call often and needs
a vehicle that can get her to work during a snow storm. With the the new Passport I decided to get
an extra set of wheels and snow tires. I found a great deal on 4 pristine 2019 Ridgeline wheels. They
came with the center caps but no TMPS sensors. The wheels are 18" by 8" wide with an offset of 55.
They have the same 5x120 bolt pattern and can use the Passport lugs. I ordered the sensors from RockAuto.
Got a sweet deal on them as a closeout item. They aren't official Honda sensors but do have the correct
42753-T6N-A02 marking on them. Figured I'd take a chance even though they weren't listed for the 2020
Passport. The price was $11.04 each and they came with the cap, stem valve, seal and nut. For snow
tires I went with Goodyear WinterCommand in size 245x60R18. They have a deep tread and good reviews.
Their overall height is the same as the original 20 tires so the speedometer is still dead-on accurate.

The good news is that the TPMS sensors work and do not need any special tools to program them to the
Passport. Here is the sequence I observed. After removing the original 20" wheels and installing the 18"
Ridgeline wheels I started the Passport up and set the instrument cluster to display the tire pressure. It
showed my normal tire pressure. I started driving and the pressure didn't change. Usually it will go up
a pound or so as the tires warm up. After about 1.5 miles, all four pressures went blank, just a dash
where the numeric pressure was shown. Within another 1/2 mile the pressures started coming back one
at a time every few seconds. As I continued to drive the pressures went up a pound like normal. Success!

I found the close-out TMPS sensors under the 2019 Honda Odyssey Wheels listing. I'm pretty sure any
quality TMPS sensor marked with 42753-T6N-A02 will work with our Passports.

My OEM TPMS sensors were supplied by Continental.

Yes, I noticed that the TPMS display blanks out for a short bit after I swap tires/wheels. I believe that the vehicle's computer retains the previous set of TPMS readings for a brief time, until it recognizes a new set of TPMS to be synced.

While I didn't see a brand name on the actual sensor, the RockAuto description had this info :
VDO / CONTINENTAL SE55915 {#42753T6NA01, 42753T6NE02, 42753TG7A51} OE Sensor; 433.90 MHz; No Programming Required
and this fitment info for the part :
ACURA NSX 2017-2018
ACURA RDX 2019-2020
ACURA TLX 2018-2020
HONDA ODYSSEY 2018-2019
HONDA PILOT 2016-2019
HONDA RIDGELINE 2017-2019

Knowing that the Pilot and Ridgeline are Passport cousins, I took the chance. At $45 for all four brand new sensors compared to
the Honda price of $33 each, it's a good deal.

Oww, wish I knew this before I spent $52 x 4 for the OEM ones from the dealer.

And your tires look great.
Thanks! They do sing a little but you have to listen closely. The Ridgeline wheels look good on a Passport.
I got lucky with the TPMS. The Goodyear tire place wanted $55 each to install and "program" their sensors to the Passport.

Tried to buy these TPMS sensors from Rock Auto because that is a great price. But got message that they are not able to ship to California!
Bummer. Was it the item itself or the shipping method that caused the order rejection?
I've heard California has some strange laws about certain items and their components.
I used DHL at a slightly higher cost to get them quickly.

Huge score there but with some risk (I'd be pissed if I had to buy new sensors and get the tires remounted).
Absolutely right! A $44 crap shoot. That's why I figured I'd post my results so others would know that this particular sensor works with our Passports and does not require any additional parts, special tools or trips to the dealer to get working.

Thanks for the heads up on those tire sensors. Debating about returning the OEM ones. Actually, are these "on" from the factory? Meaning the battery starts draining day one? Would be great to stock on these for the next tire replacement.

Sensors need to be activated or awaken upon installation by the tire installer. No need to stock up on TMPS sensors. They last 6 years or more.

I just did the same for my wife and can confirm as pressures went out just a green line and then they came back one at a time then I air up and pressures increased so because are 20" wheels don't state the Hertz but the Ridgelines do they Are TPMS 300/331. Now to figure out tires!

I’ve had my PP for 7700 miles and about 13 months It was built Aug or Sept 2020. Never rotated the tires so threw on the snows from my Ridgeline. Ready for winter duty.

I usually apply anti seize to the rotor screws but the fronts were already rusted shut. Had to drill them out and install new screws.

Thanks, the silver helps I think. Sensors read from the old wheels for a couple of tenths and then slashes for a tenth or so (I thought I'd get zip because on the Ridgeline they would go right to 56 and then to the correct reading) and finally they all set in at 36 which is what I inflated them to.
