Thanks
Both of our vehicles, my Elite PP and my wife's '17 Lincoln MKC, have the Sirius XM satellite radio service in our cars. We decided to keep the service going after the trial period ended as we liked the vast variety of music and talk available no matter where we happened to be driving.

Thanks, I am thinking about subscribing also. I just have it in my Passport Touring but I would also like to use it on my phone. I think with the All access package that will allow me to do that.
Let it lapse after 3 months and the cheap offers will fly at you. I’m getting offers for 60.00 a year for my F150.

Thanks for the advice. I will wait and see now.

That's not for the "All Access" is it?
No, it’s called a Select Subscription. I passed.
Another tip for dealing with SirusXM. Never give them your credit card number because if you do, when your subscription special runs out, they will automatically renew you at the "current" price. They will send you a printed invoice which you can then mail a check. They will charge $2.00 for invoice service, but if you argue they'll waive it. Remember they want you more than you want them.

Another tip for dealing with SirusXM. Never give them your credit card number...
Great tip. I've had XM radio since 2005 and I have never given them my credit card number. In fact when my 3 month free trial on the new Passport was ending soon they sent me an offer to extend it an extra 3 months for free. The catch? I could ONLY get the free extension if I gave them my credit card number. No thanks. I passed.
Just wondering, how might one pay for a monthly XM subscription if not w a credit card? I was going to do it online for the special 6 month offer after my trial ends in Aug. But I want to avoid auto-renew after 6 mos. Thanks, e.

You'll need to go through the (grueling) routine of talking with a rep on the phone. They will most likely make you three offers before relenting to your request for the lowest price deal. (I once read on the internet from someone who worked the phones at SiriusXM they were required make three decending price offers.) Simply tell them each time when present a new offer, no that's too expensive. Finally if they don't offer it, tell them you want 6 months for $30. This is a deal they often offer, so if they say they can't do that, tell them thanks anyway and that you're going to hang up. More likely than not, they will do that deal. They will charge another couple of dollars for fees which you can't avoid.

When they relent and agree, they will very smoothly and happily tell you they can offer that deal and all you need to do is give them your credit card number. Tell them "no", you want to pay by check and have them send you an invoice. They will want to charge you $2.00 for a paper invoice. Sometimes you can get them to drop this charge, but by now you're probably tired of dealing with them. I always agreed to the extra $2.00 fee and with the other standard fees that brings the 6 month subscription to about $35. The only catch to this low price deal is that YOU have to call right before the end of the 6 months and tell them you want to cancel, and then you'll go through the entire routine again. So be sure you get the number to cancel. At the end of the conversation they will speed-read the details including the cancelation policy.

It's been a couple of years since I've done this but this is what worked for me. I had four back to back 6 month subscriptions. Dealing with Sirius XM is worse than dealing with a car salesperson. Remember to be friendly but firm. Good luck! Let us know how it goes for you.

Good question. My free trial is up in August also. I really like Sirius but not at full price.

I had called in while back to cancel my wifes' Crosstour XM sub. It was to run thru June 20th. I called again yesterday to be sure they would cancel by 20th and no auto renew. I took her CC off as a saved pay method. They gave me a special number back then to call to cancel. It made no difference yesterday, I think I waited even longer this time with that ph # for someone to answer. :cautious:

They of course offered a few deals to extend that sub on the Crosstour but told them, no thanks. I did tell them I was seeing $5.99 for 6 months offers online for my new Passport; once the trial expires in Aug. They of course were trying to lock me in that deal yesterday. I told them, well if I still see that same offer online when my trial is about to end, I'd just do it online. They stopped pushing at that reply and we hung up

Not sure why but my phone ID showed a call from Sirius XM today, I ignored it, no VM message. Probably a follow up or to again try to lock me in on a plan for my Passport. I'll just wait n see later I used to just use my cell phone saved music via Bluetooth in my Highlander. I'll probably just do that again. peace y'all, e.

WOW!!!
I absolutely HATE having to play this game with Sirius XM. Such a ridiculous waste of time. I know they'll give us the 6 months for $30 offer. They know they'll give us the 6 months for $30 offer. But we have to play the game. "I'm sorry sir, that promotion is over -- It's no longer in the computer -- It's not possible to give you that price." "Okay, then cancel my service." "Wait sir, I can give you this lousy deal." "No." "How about this lousy deal?" "No." "Okay sir, since you are such a good customer I can give you this lousy deal." "No." "Sir, I'm sorry but this price is the best I can do." "Then cancel my service." This goes on and on for 10, 15, sometimes 20 minutes, until they finally say "Okay sir, I can give you the 6 months for $30 deal." Such a freakin' waste of time. I hate it.

This haggling requirement, along with sub-par sound quality and frequent drop-outs when driving have made the decision easy for me. NO SIRIUS!
Within the last two weeks I renewed two trial versions of XM/Sirius for two different vehicles. I elected to get the 12 months of Select Service for $60.00. I did one vehicle about 3 days after the first one.

In both cases I told them I would NOT pay any royalty music fees or sales tax on the renewal. After a brief hold each time (different rep each time) they agreed to my conditions. They posted a "credit" of around $14.50 each time (covered the royalty fees and the taxes) and I ended up paying just the $60.00 I offered.

Yes, I have a credit card on file with them and have done so for the last 20 years. Never had any subscriptions automatically renewal since I have several reminders to call them a day before the current plan expires. Just mark it on a calendar and your set to go and not be charged higher rates.

One more thing i have learned over the years is they will not allow you to call ahead and cancel the plan if it expires soon.

If you want to cancel, you either cancel the day you call, or a day before it expires. No giving them a week or two notice that you are going to stop the service on a future date.
2 months into my trial and I am really like Siriusxm. The variety I feel is one of the best. 1 month to go before the big decision to keep it.
