Any thought to re-route the Carplay USB into the center console so that the carlinKit can live there instead? I can t find anyone who has done or tried that...just curious if you considered?
The trouble is you have to use the USB with the phone logo next to it which is in the upfront area by the wireless charging. The USB in the center console doesn't work for apple car play. Unless you really went to town with some extensive wiring to switch the USBs. For me just velcroing it works perfect, and from a seated position you can't even see the wireless unit!

Received a few inches of snow in MN. First time testing the PP (and Falken tires) in slippery conditions; there were over 400+ accidents in the Twin Cities yesterday and I was glad to not be one of them. Very happy with the AWD and overall snow performance, it's better than my 4Runner was with true 4WD on the road (as to be expected).

I haven't posted in awhile, but this is also a nice look of where the vehicle sits with all the changes I've made. I've been so happy with the vehicle, and especially the fog lights in these darker/snowier months are one of my favorites upgrades. Only thing left I want to go for is the window visors/deflectors!

Picked up our snow tires from storage for my wife's Civic. The size of the rear cargo area in the PP has also been one of my favorite things. It honestly feels equal to, if not more than, my 4Runner's rear storage (I should look up the actual number comparisons). I've used for all our yard/leaf/debris/etc. clearing, multiple camp trips, and many odd property maintenance jobs and this vehicle just keeps delivering on what I was hoping it could!

Edit: The Passport does have more storage at 50.5 ft³, 100.7 to 100.8 ft³ with seat area. As compared to the 4Runner at, 46.3 to 47.2 ft³, 88.8 to 89.7 ft³ with seat area.

That should get around great in your Minnesota winters! A couple of months after we got our '16 Pilot we had 14" of snow so of course I had to try it out to see how far I could get before I got stuck with the stock Continental tires. It got around great as long as I could keep momentum up. Maybe I shouldn't have been cutting cookies in the parking lot to impress my grandkids though... Of course, I did end up getting stuck in our church parking lot after getting towards the bottom of a long upgrade. The Passport should get through just as much with a bit more ground clearance & the higher front bumper. Love our StormTrooper!

Installed Honda HPD mud flaps in place of the splash guards. Very happy with the look, and they don't appear to add any wind resistance that impacts MPGs significantly enough for me too notice.

I promise more detailed afters to come here, I'm planning to take some very nice shots with my nice camera this weekend.

Passport looks really cool. Only one thing I question and that is the HPD mud flaps - they just look flimsy compared to the other ones. But i guess they are good for overlanding, etc.

They are less flimsy than they look, I was actually hoping they'd be the slightest but more flexible (but not actually flimsy). They're a nice thickness and you can tell they're durable when you feel them, essentially equal to the other OEM option in my opinion.

The more I see the new style front and rear end, the more it's growing on me. Definitely looks good on black
Yea definitely agree!

Honestly I think the original years of the Passport are really good too. Those are what caught my eye initially, and then I just happened to buy at this model year; but I'm definitely stoked on the new look (especially once I got the chrome removed from the grill!).

I think a dark gray would be really cool in this model year, with contrast against the black accents.

Are those factory fogs with a film or did you go aftermarket?

They aren't the stock LED fogs (I have heard those are underpowered but can't comment myself), I got the EX-L trim so there were no fog lights or plugs available, so I installed the Diode Dynamics SS3 Max Amber Fog Light Kit + HD Harness. If you see my new member thread I explain how I did this and took pictures, see link below the thread is only one page so should be easy to find the couple posts on it!

This is such a gorgeous refresh model. Just got a black Passport myself and am watching this closely. Quick question: how did you remove the chrome grille garnish?
It just pops out, via pulling on the retaining clips (which never feels good, but it works). There are instructions that arrive with the black grill trim piece!

Did I miss where you talked about installing the skid plates? Easy install? It seems they have a plate for most/all underbody pieces. Any reason why you just got the two?

I didn't add any skid plates, just have what came on it stock!
I would highly recommend the NoLo plates. I'm looking forward to seeing what you will come up with for suspension. Do you plan on using this vehicle in any competition events?

Oh I'm not planning to actually Rally this vehicle! It was just an inspiration for what to put on the rig. I've lived enough of the life of wrecking my vehicles off-road haha I have SxSs and Snowmobiles for that these days! This just needs to tough out the MN winter's and it's been a beast so far!
