Wanted to contribute a data point to the roof rack configurations on the passport. I was looking to use the rack for storage and to hold an RTT simultaneously for camping.
Using the factory roof rails and cross bars, I managed to fit a Hutch Daly 2 RTT and a Thule Force XT Sport side by side. Their combined weight came out to about 130lbs, leaving around 30lbs for equipment within the box to stay under the dynamic weight limit.
With the tent unfolded, some of the weight is supported by the ladder. So far the tent has supported 350lbs of people. If I were to piece this setup together again, I would use a different cross bar that laid flat across the roof rails. The slight curvature of the oem bars slightly tilts the tent.
Onto the pictures:

Thanks for the info and the lovely pictures, if I were Honda, I will ask to borrow the pictures to use as promotional material.
I think the curvature of the OEM crossbars was meant to provide resistance to bending under heavy loads without increasing the size and the weight of the bars. If you switch to straight crossbars you may want to confirm that they will meet or exceed the weight limits of the OEM crossbars.

Yep, the curvature of the OE crossbars is giving me all sort of issues fitting a platform rack properly.

Rhino: nope.
Inno: small-yes (but it is too small), Large-nope, it both bottoms out on the towers and the curvature bends up one of the platform bars and vibrates like hell unloaded at 45-62mph (which is too bad, because that was the perfect size)
Yakima: K-size-Yes, with the additional clamps, but it vibrates pretty dramatically unloaded. I think it is a characteristic of the bowed crossbars (better to just go with Timberline Towers, no vibration)

Yeah, Amazon and eTrailer love me right now with the returns.

Good to know, thanks for the info. I was considering putting my setup on a platform rack for more stability/versatility. I came to the same conclusion about the the timberline towers or the Thule variant (450R I believe).

Had the opportunity to camp out in Sequoia this past weekend with this setup. Im finding the short comings of the oem cross bars are enough to warrant changing the setup to a Yakima timberline and HD bar combo. An added benefit is I’ll be able to space the pieces just a few more inches apart, so I can open the roof box from tent, and sleeping supplys can be directly accessed.

Nice research! I was also looking at the Go Rhino! Platform Rack since you can mount via the crossbar, but I didn't take the plunge yet hoping there will be something like a Prinsu on the horizon.

What may those be?
The stock cross bars are:
1) curved, so for a tent that sits on one side, the bed isn’t level.
2) thin, so they flex a bit moving around in the tent.
3) narrow, so the box and tent had to be butted up against each other so I couldn’t access the box’s lock to open it from the tent.

I haven’t slept in it yet, but I think those issues are all resolved with the new crossbar set up:

Hey did you get the Yakima timberline towers and HD bar combo installed and slept on it yet? I am looking to get a similar RTT and Cargo Box set up with Inno parts, but your feedback on the rattling at highway speeds unloaded has me second guessing. Open to everyone's feedback on the Inno rattling too.

Thanks HP fam!

Hey, sorry just saw this. Yeah I’ve done maybe a dozen trips with this setup now, the new crossbar setup solved all the problems mentioned earlier. It’s been solid.
