I’m wondering if anyone here has experience with Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform. They officially not supporting Passport although people are mounting these platforms on multiple different rigs. Would be neat to hear that I can get Pioneer and somehow attach it to the OEM roof rack without issues. Any tips appreciated!

Looks like the problem is one of connection the rack to the rails. I looked at The Rhino systems when I bought my 2020 Touring and found that the Rhino did not offer the system I wanted. No viable way to secure it to the roof rails that I could find for the Rhino.

If you are interested I went with the Surco Safari 5.0 system instead. Does not require cross bars, just rails. Their system uses sliding rail clamps that allow you to get a perfect fit and move the basket forward and back as you like.

The part number to fit our Passports is S4550. It goes on and comes off easily once you have it set up.

Thanks for you reply! I just got today LockNLoad platform from Yakima after they provided me also their clamps which allowed me to mount the platform on my OEM crossbars! Just finished installing it. LockNLoad System

I can post some photos later this week if anyone is interested seeing the effect.

How’s your road noise with that? I was thinking of going that route as well. Do you have any side view pics with your rig?
Honestly, I don’t know. :) Sounds normal to me. I’m rolling on A/T tires and have also ditch lights so can’t tell you the precise “noise” location/value. Matter of taste and probably everything depends on the expectations. I’d compare it to the noise lvl when having for instance skis or bicycle on the roof. Although, this is just my perspective.

I haven’t taken a side photo. I’ll send it to you as soon as I will have it.

How did you do the wiring for the ditch lights/ light bar? Also what size do you have for the Lock and load?

I have the K size of the platform (55x49)
Here you have all the wiring:

Plus connected to battery, minus to the unpainted piece of car body.

Lighting module also attached to car body

Wiring to ditch lights goes inside that big plastic cover. You need just to unclipit and push cable inside.

10612

The light bat cable goes inside that small, black windshield bar. You can also unclip it to put cable inside. Just red/black tiny cables. Remove insulation because it won’t fit.

Than cable goes through rails to the light bar.

I haven’t done wiring to the cabin because I found the different way how to do it. I’m using remotely controlled module I’ve got on Amazon

Somaer LED Light Bar Remote

Remote module is insulated and attached to the car body.

That’s it. :)
