Replaced my 2.0T Sport

Hello everyone! I recently traded my 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T for my 2019 Passport Touring. Tomorrow will be my first week with it and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I loved my Accord but it was giving me problems and leaving me stranded on the side of the road. Anyway, I look forward to being here and hearing about what y'all do with your Passports

Nice. I like the white, but the wife had to have the silver.
Nice OP! How are you liking the V6 compared to the 2.0t? I much prefer the V6 in the PP over the 2.0t in the Accord.

I love the way the silver looks but my last 3 Honda's were white. I'm a creature of habit haha

I loved the low end torque of the 2.0T but I love how the V6 sounds and its much smoother.

Out of curiosity, what kind of problems did you experience with your Accord? 2018 model is relatively new so I am a bit surprised that you're having issues with it. My friend has one, and he loves it. I'm just curious about why you didn't like it.

I loved the car, it was quick, drove well, did everything I needed it to do. What I didn't like was the 2 times it stranded me on the side of the road. My build was an extremely early build and it had issues. Most recently, a few weeks ago, I was driving to Destin FL from Jackson MS and as I was going thru Mobile AL I was trying to pass an 18 wheeler. As I accelerated to around the 2 18 wheelers, my check engine light started flashing. I lost all power to the motor. I had it towed to the Honda dealer in Daphne (I highly recommend them too, Tameron Honda and Nancy in Service) and they diagnosed a bunch of misfires and ended up replacing all my fuel injectors. It only had 15k miles on it. I do a lot of traveling and I just couldn't have a car with reliability issues.

The first time it stranded me was about 4 or 5 months after I bought it. I was heading to see my brother in Houston TX and I had been on the road for about 2 hours or so. The dashboard lit up like a christmas tree. Every warning that could come on did. I took it to a Honda dealer in Monroe LA and they had to replace a couple of sensors for the VSA system.

A buddy of mine has a 2.0T Sport with the 6 speed and it is amazing! I hated to see the accord go but I'm super happy with my decision to get a Passport!

Thanks for the update. I like Honda for their reliability, but your story is kinda scary! So far so good with my friend's Accord but for how long? Maybe it is because it is a new-ish model with a new engine. Anyhow, you're better now with the Passport and its tried and true J35 under the hood. :) Enjoy your new ride!

Yea I have always enjoyed Honda for its reliability too but I think my accord being an early build model, it still had a few kinks that needed to be worked out. But I'm super excited to have that J35 back under the hood. It's so smooth!

I think Honda made a huge mistake dropping the V6 in favor of the 2.0t. Had a 13 Accord Touring in the past and its great having this motor again. I have test drove the Accord 2.0t twice and I just did not like it all. Sure the low end torque is great and addicting. But, it’s still no V6 that is tried and true with being so smooth like in the PP.

Also by all means the PP is no rocket ? but neither is it slow. C&D got 5.8 seconds 0-60 and 14.6 1/4 mile run. That is really good for a vehicle of this size.

Yea I agree. I had a 2014 Accord Coupe V6 with a 6 speed manual and it was by far my favorite accord to drive. Had plenty of pull and was so much fun to drive! I miss it. I shouldn't have gotten rid of it but I was tired of the 2 door life.

My vehicle before the PP was an 2018 Accord 2.0 manual and I really loved that thing as it was plenty fast and I never had 1 problem (plus I wanted a manual for my kid so he could learn how to shift/my neck is still sore ?) but I just love the PP so no regrets ?
