I'm outfitting my Passport for some mild-mid off road driving. I was under the vehicle the other day looking for recovery points. The OEM jack points under the door are obvious (though I loath the style). Are these jack points also near the front & rear axel?

I can't imagine these are recovery points???

Speaking of recovery points, I couldn't find anything in the manual. I located this near the front drivers side, but it actually sits higher than the bumper trim.

So I'm assuming that using this recovery point with any point parallel (or higher) than your bumper will cause severe bumper damage?

I couldn't locate any recovery point in the rear?

Is this a major oversight by Honda? Am I missing something? What would you use as a recovery point if necessary?

The first two pics are definitely the jack points. At least that is what I use with a floor jack. I assume the hook is for towing. I do not believe Honda thought the PPs were "offroad" enough to provide true easily accessible recovery points.

I just use the round disk on the floor jack. No need to use any special adapter. That metal on the PP is pretty thick. After lifting with the floor jack, I do use rubber "adapters" between the side "pinch weld" jack points and the jack stands. I just prefer the way the rubber adapters and the jack stand work together to both support the PP and protect the pinch welds and the sheet metal. These are available on Amazon.

Only thing I have heard of for recovery point - not jack location - is to use the trailer hitch. Folks have said here that the loop you show under front is not strong enough for a recovery point. It may have been a transport tie down.

I'm thinking of getting one of these with the Honda pinch-weld adapter:
The RennStand by Safe Jack

I never knew they made those stands for the pinch weld jacking points. Now I’m putting them on the list of things I need.
Thanks for posting the link.

A transport tie down? can anyone confirm that??

A Trailer hitch point would only work if you're the lead vehicle, or someone is behind you.

Adventure ready my a$$. Even my frickin BMW has a pop out bumper cover where I can attach an eyelet. This is a major oversight by Honda.

I don’t have one either but plan on getting the Curt hitch in the near future. I don’t have anything to tow right now but figure it could be useful.
Curt hitch looks nice and could provide a solution for the rear. Does it seat beneath the bumper, or do you have to remove some cosmetic bits? Got any pics?

Still need a solution for the front.

It seats below the bumper without removing any trim. I have the color keyed trim for the center of the rear bumper and have no intention of removing it. YouTube has a U Haul video of the whole install.

The Curt hitch is identical a couple of other hitches (Reese and Draw-Tite) made specificaly for the Honda Passport. Some claim after installing that the hands-free tailgate feature still works. After I had mine installed the tailgate feature only works sporadically, so much so I don't even try to use it anymore. Sad that this useful feature is lost, but I needed a hitch for my bike rack and didn't want to pay the highe price for the OEM hitch from Honda.

In the very near future I will try and fabricate something to solve this problem that was overlooked by Honda🤦‍♂️.

Assuming it will be simple and easy. I'll post pics after completion.
Looking forward to see what you come up with!

Though I'm not sure I can wait! I'm taking a few pictures/ideas to a local off-road store to see if they can come up with a solution.

Off the cuff I'm thinking something along these lines
