Hello all -

I own a 2020 Passport ExL with approx 6k miles.
When driving on slightly uneven surface, I am noticing an annoying faint rattle noise coming from the middle of the dash. The noise very faint and only appears when there’s a slight bump on the road.

Not sure if something is loose inside the dash- I had the infotainment repaired (TSB fix / cracking speaker ) a few months ago. Maybe something was left loose due to the repairs?
Has anyone experienced a similar rattle ?

I am hesitant to have the dealer look at this. I don’t feeling comfortable having the dash dismantled.

any thoughts?
Thanks.

I went through the same thing with my 2019 (since traded in for 2021). The rattle in that same location was driving me insane. The dealership got in the dash and said they found broken plastic pieces and fixed it. The sound disappeared for a couple weeks and then came right back.

Best of luck with finding a permanent solution!

Here is my story... During my most recent cross country excursion, I heard a faint rattle that was difficult to localize. Thought that it may have been from the window or something in the dash. After a long while, I had an epiphany! I had an open plastic water bottle (the disposable kind) in the center cup holder that was nested in a towel to keep it from flopping around. It dawned on me that the plastic ring that separates from the cap was the source of the rattle. With sufficient road roughness and resonance, the plastic ring would vibrate like tuning fork.

Point is to check everything that may be loose... center console, glove box, cup holders, overhead eye glass holder, etc.

Lol ... great suggestion! I took everything out of the car. The glove box is empty, no sunglasses in the eyeglass holder, nothing in the center console, the trunk is empty too, I even got rid of the phone charger. The darn dash still has a faint rattle, only on bumpy roads.
