I know there are several threads on Sensing (Lane Keeping, Cameras, Blind Spot Warning, Collision Mitigation Brake Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto High Beam, etc.).

It is clear Sensing is bad enough that we need to get as many reports to Honda as possible, so I am appealling to everyone who wants improved / fixed Sensing. Please report your concerns/complaints with the Sensing features (bad lane keeping or lock lost, poor auto cruise control performance, terrible auto high beams, and especially brakes slamming or warning falsely for things like oncoming traffic and road signs, etc). The sensing package SUCKS and we need to get the noise level high enough for Honda to care to fix our vehicles by any means necessary.

This is a pretty nice vehicle with lots of fit and finish issues, but the only really inexcusable one in my mind is the dangerous and flawed sensing package. Let's try to get Honda to fix it!

The ONLY thing that makes a car maker fix anything is LOTS of negative feedback, one or two reports are always brushed under the rug. Even some dealers admit they are aware of the issues. If you have a few minutes, it will help us all out.

Done! For the 3rd time! Last time I spoke with a tech support engineer and he actually tried to find a way to remove the disclaimer from appearing every time I start the vehicle. He even called back a few days later saying it was hopeless as far as his abilities went. I repeated that frustration in my email along with issues with the collision detection and other things.

I have driven other vehicles (Audi, VW & Land Rover) with sensing and they are not perfect either. I just think of sensing as a helpful assistant but ultimately it's up to me to do the driving.

Very true, and several people have chimed in to say this and excuse the system, but NONE of us are relying on this as some kind of auto drive. Not sure where people are getting this idea. We are pointing out the system is flawed and not very convenient or outright dangerous. The latest (or even 3 years old) from Kia, Ford, Toyota, Subaru are much better at least for ACC and lane keeping- I'm talking a significant difference where it is actually convenient and predictable and works most of the time without losing lock or speeding up and slowing all the time, bouncing off the lane sides, etc. Also I have never heard of a collision avoidance system being this bad or dangerous- maybe it has happened and I am unaware? Auto brights sucks on most brands, but radar cruise control is actually pretty basic and should not be this bad, and any safety feature should not be dangerous in some conditions.

I believe I'm one of the few but I don't take umbrage with Hondas' settings (nor mechanical's).
Is our PP perfect? NO, but it is an improvement over every buggy I've piloted in the past. I can /will easily live with it.

My personal first car (a 4 door 61 Buick Special) had a 2 speed auto, biased ply tires, drum brakes, hood ornament, AM radio X 1 speaker, NO safety features (beyond good skill/ luck). Yet that was an improvement over my learner vehicle - a 56, 3 on the tree, Studebaker pickup.

My Pride and Joy was being trusted to pilot my Dads very elderly 58 Lincoln Continental Convertible on a date with my future bride (now some 40+ years ago).
My younger uneducated sisters referred to it as the 'stinkin Lincoln'; now she - the Lincoln - is long gone yet my bride remains.

Form letter responses so far from Honda telling me to take the car to a technician. They don't care to take the time to understand the design is flawed on parts of Sensing and many owners see the same problems. I will keep working with them. My dealer is aware of similar reports on several models but has few solutions so far. This is exactly why getting word out and saying something happens.

For those of you who are happy with whatever, great! That doesn't have anything to do those of us who want to prompt Honda to improve their Sensing package in the area of Collision Mitigation Braking, Adaptive Cruise control, etc.

Go read the Audi Q7 forums. With the cross traffic alert, it's nearly impossible to make a quick left turn between oncoming traffic. Multiple people have gotten rear ended as the Q7 suddenly "sees" an oncoming car and slams on the brakes mid-turn. The only way to defeat it is to not use the left turn signal which creates other problems.

My biggest complaint is with the simple front parking sensors. They are placed at the front corners but none in the middle. Nearly useless if parking straight on.

Yeah so true and such a stupid cost savings to ignore putting a front-center sensor. I complained to Honda in the past about it. I have no idea why they can override the radar sensor (for the ACC that is behind the center Honda logo) to also handle parking. If it can detect a vehicle traveling 75 mph in front of me, why can't it detect a stationary object (such as a wall)?

Uggg that doesn't make me feel much better. Car makers need to get OUT of human decisions in many cases where their computer logic is not smart enough yet.

I reported a few days ago that I’d notified Honda of my concerns regarding some of the electronics I had regarding ACC and auto high beam specifically. Today I received a call from American Honda regarding my complaint. After explaining the lack of interest from the local dealership and doubting the problems span the entire Honda line up, he related a similar complaint recently from a person in Hawaii that had very similar issues. It turned out that one of the control modules was faulty. We’ll see. We are leaving town for 5 months with our Passport As we flee winter. They have dealers there.

It does not stay off and my dealer confirmed. LKAS, road departure, and ACC save through a power cycle but CMBS, the dangerous one, must be disabled with a long press each start.

You can save most of it off. Auto engine idle stop and collision mitigation braking require a button press each time you start the car to disable. I hate the way Honda implements sensing. Good car with a couple half baked features.
