Phone issue

We bought our Passport Touring 2019 - in February 2019. Like most, we've had issues with the infotainment / gauge cluster shutting down issue that was fixed/addressed last fall. Issues were with sound/phone calls crackling, gauge cluster shutting down randomly and no backup camera at times. Once those issues were fixed, we started having issue with our Bluetooth phone. My wife and I both have Android phones, Note9 and S20. We did not have any issues with accepting/placing calls before the update. Post update, the issue is that the calling party cannot hear me/us. In other words, I can call my wife via infotainment system or dial directly via phone and the car would place the call on the vehicle speakerphone system, as intended, but she would not be able to hear me, as if I was on mute. In other words, parties on the other end cannot hear me but I can hear them. I went through extensive troubleshooting, re-pairing all the phones, deleting/re-adding Bluetooth, removing Hondalink and re-adding it. Resetting the infotainment system to no avail. It seems like the microphone is muted or broken. I took it to the dealership but they were unable to fix the issue and they scheduled for me to drop off the vehicle later this week. I was just wondering if anyone had the same or similar issue? I feel like it could be just a setting somewhere or a trivial issue. I have also noticed an issue with HondaLink, where it no longer updates the stats, tire pressure, gas meter, odometer, etc. unless I'm in the vehicle. Before the update, I would be able to receive this information remotely/while not in the vehicle. Any suggestions on how to fix these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is a new Honda Service Bulletin A20-095 that
dealership may refer to regarding some of the phone issues, if it is bluetooth or hands-free specific.

Post what they did when you receive vehicle back from dealership service.

I was having the problem with HondaLink updating as well. I deleted the HondaLink app on my phone and reinstalled it. It is now working fine. Hope this works for you too.

Got the vehicle back after two days of troubleshooting/fixing the issue. Yesterday, dealership stated that they will be replacing the microphone , after ordering the part/microphone, and should be done today. So today closer to 4pm, I get a call and they say they might have to have the vehicle in until next Tuesday. I informed the gentleman that is unacceptable. He stated that after replacing the microphone, the issue persisted and they need more time. I then again tell them that the issue started right after they addressed the gauge cluster/infotainment system where they had to clamp/install new cables in the vehicle. I insisted that he informs the tech about that and he did. 30 minutes later, I get a call to pick up the car as the issue is now fixed/resolved. So yeah, the issue was with a cable that was "soft-set" and fakra connector was not fully seated. Two full days at the dealership for this issue plus another day last year for the re-call issue. Just happy its fixed.

Btw, as suggested, we also did try connecting the phone directly via usb cable to the car before taking it to the dealership. Then we tried using the "voice" system but it did not work. That's when we concluded it must be either the microphone or some kind of an issue related to "infotainment" recall. Thanks everyone!

I'm glad you were able to trouble shoot it for them...Start with the simple things.
