After running over Red Mountain Pass and up to Yankee Boy Basin in a Wrangler, and with a bit of 'comfort reading' in our FunTreks Colorado 4-Wheel-Drive Trails guide book, my wife and I decided to tackle the trail through the Red Mountain Mining Area just south of Ouray, Colorado in our 2020 Passport EX-L. It had rained two days before, so there were some muddy (and the usual rocky) sections to contend with, but the Passport managed it just fine. As you can see from the attached picture at Yankee Girl Mine, we have Wildpeak Trails on the OEM 20" wheels which, while not ideal, just meant choosing a careful line to avoid cutting a sidewall. Ours are 255/50/R20 tires, so one size up from stock.

It was fun to compare the Passport to the Wrangler. Each has their place, and they're both capable in their own way, but the Passport did impress. We love 'em both.

Gorgeous picture!
I'm going back to 20" wheels, thanks for the feedback on your tires!
