Light will only come on based on weight in the seat. A small child or even a heavy pocket book ect.
Passenger 'Airbag Off' indicator - should it be on?
I noticed on my Passport the passenger side airbag off indicator (beside the hazard switch) never comes on. It does flash when first starting the engine as it does a system check, but from my understanding (and experience with past vehicles), the indicator should be on and the airbag turned off when the seat is empty or when the seat senses a child sitting in it.
Can anyone check and confirm if their indicator is on when the seat is empty before I have the system tested by my dealer?

So the airbag is on even when the seat is empty?
No if the weight is 65lbs or less the airbag is turned off.So the airbag is on even when the seat is empty?
