I have some warranty work needed to be done (noisy power gate) .. dealer ordered replacement motor (I thought struts were making the noise...) , now it is almost 3 weeks and the dealer folks are blaming pandemic... no ETA on parts ...should I try another dealer ? Anyone heard about parts shortage ?

There are all kinds of shortages due to this "pandemic".
We just walked through 7 vacant new homes that were finished over a month ago. None of them had garage doors. Builder said lumber, trusses, doors, tubs, appliances and other stuff was impossible to get on time.

I work for a large Honda dealership in my area, and there are a lot of suppliers that went out of business. It would be best to call other dealers up, to see if they have a part that you need. Just make sure its under warranty! Best of luck!

umad, I've always been curious if Honda dealerships treat their parts inventory as private and not visible to corporate. And therefore not easy to search like this part w/o making ph. calls.
30+ years ago, we had a system (computers) where the search went branch/district/region. And if not found, the region would look at other regions and then downward - districts/branches. Parts at the branches (like dealerships) had been expensed to the branch, but with corporate pressure, could be acquired and expenses transferred.

I was wondering that too...I would think all honda dealers would have common purchase platform.. ...does not seem to be the case.

Sonce the dealer is within couple miles and issue does not prevent me from using vehicle, I'll give them rest of the year...
