Anyone with OEM crossbars, can you share the length of them? I'm looking at a rail change. Many thanks.

The total length of the bars end to end is 43 9/16" and the measurement between the rails is 43 3/16"
That's weird, tried edit reply and it didn't save it. Hopefully this doesn't pop up twice later.
At any rate, the crossbar length is about dead on what I need for my existing rack.
Can anyone tell me the gap measured between the inward points of the front/rear rail mount? Here's a pic, it's a bit vague to describe in words:

Oh wow, so the whole gap between front and rear brackets is less than 48"?
This may actually work...I need 49" of clearance on the rail.

I' ve got a frontrunner rack from an old jeep of mine. I'll keep you posted and many thanks for the help.

You've been a huge help here JLH! Greatly appreciated.

Now, I'm pretty sure I won't have tailgate clearance issues....but better to be on the safe side. What's the clearance from off the front of rear rail mount to the tailgate opened?

If my math is right I'll need 10 1/4" inches to clear. It will be riding above the rail a couple inches for sure, but the baseline will give me a worst case scenario. I showed it on yours here closed:

With the tailgate open, I get 17 3/4" at the base of the rail support to the bottom leading edge of the tailgate.

That looks great! Glad I could help.
That rack looks huge and looks noisy, because the flat "leading" edge is in front of your sun roof.
When not using the rack, the front cross arm should be slid back, about 14" behind the back edge of the sunroof, to reduce wind noise in the cabin. Your sweet spot, for noise reduction (with no rack) may vary.

I believe someone on this forum has figured out an ideal distance, otherwise, those flat surfaces make the Passport look rugged.
