First road trip in 2020 PP Elite. Love the large side mirrors, but got to do the look in the mirror, Change focus and check blind spot detection before changing lanes. ACC works better in Sport mode. My gas mileage actually improved leaving the transmission in Sport mode for highway driving, otherwise takes forever to get back to speed after the system has slowed down for the car in front. LKAS worked well until construction zones where the lines can go anywhere. System can be annoying in those situations and is better turned off. One time on a curve, the system locked on to a car pulled over on the side of the road and caused heavy braking. PP feels great going uphill with power and amazing going around curves at speed. Really holds the line well. Gas mileage has been about 22,5 mpg, but on flat roads in Sport mode got almost 29 mpg. I drove though rain and sand storm, I died a little bit listening to the PP get sand blasted, but that’s why I bought this vehicle, and it handled great. I did a couple of 800+ mile days, seat was great, and driver fatigue minimal. This is largely due to using ACC, since the built in protection lets you not hyper focus on the cars in front of you. The downside is that this is not really driving. This is more like a video game, where you steer minimally and control your speed through the sharp circle shapped button on the steering wheel. This should be a more comfortable button since you use it so often. On the other hand, when I shut the systems down and actually drove, the driving dynamics are very good. I tried car camping the first night, not sure I would do it again, at least not at a rest stop. By the way, kinda gross, but the luggable loo (bucket with toilet seat) fits on the floor in the second row and is quite usable with the front passenger seat moved forward. Pull up the window shades and you’re good to go! Funny story, was on the road in Indiana, thought I smelled poop, was horrified and opened the windows, only to be met by the overwhelming stench of cow manure from the farms I was passing by.

When you say sport mode do you mean putting the transmission in sequential and using the paddle shifters?

Yes Sequential mode but not using the paddle shifters. On the highway I use it with ACC and find that combination works best.
I didn’t know you could do that. It was my understanding that the transmission would only shift when the redline was reached without using the paddles. I am very curious about how you do this. Thanks in advance.

When you drive in "S" mode it will shift automatically. However, as soon as you touch the paddles you have to use them all the time. To correct, select "D" and then back to "S" for it to shift automatically again.

This is, of course, I understand what you are asking @jppelec

Yes that’s exactly what I was asking. Thank You. I had a older Accura and it would only shift if you did it. I am learning things in this group I must have missed in the manual. Thanks Again.

Thanks for the tip Mr Butch. I was initially disappointed with the Passport ACC system. It didn’t seem as refined as my only previous experience in a Toyota Camry rental. Engaging the S mode prior to activating the ACC system is a much improved driving experience
