Occasionally when I'm driving I hear a single beep with no notification anywhere and have no idea what it's trying to tell me. Any idea what it's attempting to inform me of without actually informing me?

If there's multiple turning lanes and I'm signaling-left in the right-lane there's the annoying beeps because it thinks I'm going to hit the car in the left-blindspot. Would be nice if the sensing knew that there were multiple turning lanes but considering how poor they've implemented a lot of the Sensing that would be a lot to expect, sigh.

Worse than all of that, when I use the remote start from the FOB (obviously from the FOB because they didn't implement the remote start), unlock the doors for family members if they open and/or close the passenger doors there's sometimes 6 annoying fast beeps. I have no idea what that is indicating either. These beeps are similar to having the auto lock feature enabled when walking away and the tailgate isn't closed entirely yet-- which shouldn't be a reason to beep if I'm in the process of closing it.

I've never owned a vehicle that beeps as much as the PP and it's certainly the most obnoxious sounding beep of them all.

I suspect the single beeps happen while using cruise control as it recognizes a vehicle in front of you. It'll beep again when that vehicle goes out of range. There IS a visual indicator of this happening - watch the area of the speed selected display (upper right area of the dash pod).

The multiple chirps are likely indicating that your doors were NOT locked, for whatever reason. In this case Because you still had a door open.

If I'm right you can send me a couple of beers (or redheads/ my bride will away next week).

Thanks for the replies all. Hmmmm, I don't often use cruise control so no beer for you @Wrascal! Also, when I use the remote-start from the FOB and use the FOB to unlock the previously locked doors is when I get the 5-6 obnoxious beeps. So of course the doors were unlocked and opened and then closed and perhaps even re-opened, none of the beeps make sense and sometimes they happen sometimes they don't.

Also, I'm not using LKAS. I imagine on long trips I might use ACC and LKAS but not for my daily commutes or while running errands around town which is 95% of my PP usage thus far. I don't use Waze either (used to but haven't in years. I think the last time I used it was in Washington DC to notify me of the numerous speed-trap cameras).

So I still have no concrete understanding of these either beep/multiple beep events. I understand them in some situations (even if they are stupid in that context). Closing the tailgate and walking away which freaks out the auto-lock is stupid, walking away from the PP with the engine still running is a valid multiple beeping situation. Multiple beeps when remote start + remote unlock + doors opening is stupid. Phantom beeps with no indication of what it's telling me is also dumb.

Wife's car and I haven't driven it 5 miles yet but I hate to read this thread. Nothing about "beeping" in a car THIS COMPLICATED makes sense to me. Heck even in the movie Blade Runner (set in 2019) there were voice prompts, not beeps ("Walk now, walk now...Don't walk, don't walk").

Yep, the PP would be a nearly perfect vehicle if it addressed some of the concerns on this forum and especially the obnoxious beeps. I think every car I've ever driven has annoyed me with non-intuitive or unexpected behaviors in one-way or another but the PP seems to be the most frustrating of them all since they gimped so many things (sensors, cameras, remote start from an app, etc) and poorly implemented other things.

I once drove a Pontiac Grand Prix which had a chime when you had less than (I think it was) 35 miles left in the gas tank and it would chime every few minutes so I'd hear it multiple times a drive which drove me nuts. That was bad, but compared to multiple obnoxious and random beeps of the PP it was a pleasure.

The only beep I have found to be extremely annoying is the super loud tailgate open/close beep. (This has been addressed in another thread)
But other than that I hardly hear any mystery beeps or notifications that have gone unexplained.

The single beeps you're hearing is probably the traffic alert from the GPS. Just go to the volume settings in the nav and mute it. All other beeps are either a warning or alert of some sort and eventually, you will learn to tune it out.

You might want to take a look at the "Report sensing issues" thread. Agreed, the PP is a great car if they'd just address the sensing problems. I get tired of the car telling me I'm about to crash every time I go through the McDonald's drive thru!

That’s funny. The Passport is just warning you that eating at McDonald’s will kill you just as dead as a head-on car crash!

Interestingly, those random beeps while driving (w/ no indication as to the cause) seem to happen frequently in the same location where I signal to turn right (from the right lane) while driving right before slowing down and making the turn. It happens at other places too but noticed it yesterday, today and prior times at the exact same location. And for the record I wasn't making a right turn into McDonalds or any other fast food establishment. I've created multiple tickets with Honda regarding Sensing and haven't gotten any replies. I think they know how bad it is and have given up responding.

I've been reading about the Road Departure Mitigation system and while it should NOT be causing any beeps, since you have found a situation where you might be able to repeat the problem, try turning RDM off and making the transit several times to see if it persists.

There are so many and varying "conditions" under which RDM works (or doesn't) that maybe one of the sensors that contribute is defective.

I noticed the same thing, this is what I have found. When going by intersection the fog line is broken and that when I get a beep, it’s telling me it can’t Center the car
, Also if you put your turn signal on and a car is in your blind spot you will hear a beep
hope that helps

I know about the turn signal beep if there is a car in the blindspot but the beeps in question usually happen when I'm in the rightmost lane and turning right or in a single lane where there is no blindspot. So that's not it. The other scenario may be interesting, but I'm not sure what the "fog line" is.

i did some investigating and if you go to settings there is a button to turn off the beep. It took me some time to go through all the settings but found it and turned it off. Went for a ride and no beef.
the fog line is the solid white line on the shoulder off the road.

Oh wow, never heard it call that before! I'll have to dig around in the settings to disable it too. Thanks! Sounds like I can get some of my sanity back if I do that. Once I figure out the cause of the multiple beeps when remote starting I can come back in from the ledge.

when you get to the settings for the lane keeping asst you will find other beep settings you can turn off. The only beeps I have now are when I walk away with my key on me and it beeps twice to let me know all doors are locked, I don’t think you can disable the hatch when it opens and closes for safety reasons.
I just which Honda had a way to turn off stop start without having to push the button each time you start the car. I ave to believe this wears out the starter and battery before it’s time. Also know the most wear on your engine is when you start it.
