I’ve scheduled the Opti-Coat Pro+ service for this Friday. Want to get it done before the finish is subjected to the harsh environment for too long. My waxing days are over, so I’m looking forward to a long term shine, and lower maintenance.Sorry for the late replies @Beachbum07 @rls002 .
Yes the Opti-Coat is still doing great - due to the shelter in place and a long vacation preceeding that I haven't washed it in a while. But I did clean off some bird droppings and as promised it was as easy as pouring watering on the spot and wiping clean. I am a happy camper
I got my Opticoat done at Xscend Detailing in Santa Clara CA. Would definitely recommend them of Opti-Coat application
just out of curiosity, what does Opti-coat cost for a vehicle as large as Passport?I’ve scheduled the Opti-Coat Pro+ service for this Friday. For the Opti-Coat Pro it’s $1,000, and for the Pro+ it’s $1,500.just out of curiosity, what does Opti-coat cost for a vehicle as large as Passport?
Yeah, imagine someone actually wanting their new vehicle to look nice....Someone's gotta say it ... y'all are crazy spending (those Big) $ on appearances; but then I blow cash on my vices (firearms, booze, dogs) so why not?
To date I've not yet washed (vac'd, dusted) my PP (plenty of hosings).
I've had aftermarket coatings on my 85 Prelude and 2012 BMW and was happy with them both, but on the Car Care websites the DIY crowd always likes the manual waxes/coatings.I take pride in keeping my Passport clean. Opticoat ceramic protection intrigues me, but I can't justify spending that much money.
Call Top To Bottom detailing in Temecula regarding that brand.I'm looking forward to customizing my 2019 Passport
Here's what I've ordered so far:
- Covercraft sunscreen (Amazon)
- 3D Maxpider first and second row Kagu Rubber floor mats (Amazon)
- Honda cargo tray for the PP (Bernardi)
- Key Fob cover (Amazon)
And here's what I'm thinking about adding:
- LED lights for the full interior
- Front and read dashcam (may reuse the one I have)
- Opticoat ceramic exterior coating
- Cargo net or keep a weeks worth of groceries from sliding around in the back.
I have always liked to put plastic covers over my plates and those can do damage as well. With that said do you know/think you could use a cover in addition to the silicone base? Thanks, good find and it’s on the list. One of my peeves is driving around with the dealers name anywhere on the vehicle. So I had to search for a plate holder. Continuing the silicone trend I picked up these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CV5PLFM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
I am impressed with them. I'm still on temporary printouts so we'll see how well the plates from the DMV fit in them. They have a 6 colours available which is nice if you want to create a touch of colour on your vehicle or just want it to blend in. The nice thing with them being silicone is no rust that could happen on metal and not as brittle as plastic. I also think that these would be the least damaging to any painted areas they come into contact with. Attached a rear shot and closeup that shows the pattern (which probably doesn't matter since it will be covered by your plates)
