Whats up everyone!
Been lurking the forum for a about a week now since we picked up our new 2022 sonic gray Trailsport last Friday. Thought it was about time I make a post and introduce myself.
The Passport was not the first vehicle we had in mind to replace our falling apart 2007 MB GL. We were really interested in getting one of the new Grand Cherokee L's but after consideration and taking in to account resale, reliability and other factors, we started looking around more and researching other vehicles.
Randomly going to the local Honda dealership last Thursday night, they had a new Trailsport that was just delivered earlier that day that we were able to check out and test drive. It being 7:30 at night and not quite ready to commit to it yet, we went home and slept on it. The next morning, called the salesman we were working with to hold it until I could get down there and do the paperwork. I think we made a great decision! The wife loves it, my two kids have way more room now compared to our FWD Jeep Cherokee and overall its a really nice vehicle! Did I pay MSRP, yes. Did I have a hard time accepting the $1500 dealer mark-up, yes. But we really needed to get a new second car and regardless of what manufacturer i would have went with, I would have gotten screwed somehow. Seems thats just the times we are living in unfortunately. I did get a way better interest rate than Jeep was offering so thats a plus!
Not quite sure what we have planned for it yet. I might do some simple mods that would not void the warranty for now. I do watch Jondz's passport on YouTube and man, what a bad*** rig he's got! Sure is tempting!
Anyways, I'll stop the rambling. Happy to be apart of this forum and the community! If anyone's local to the Treasure Valley, give me a holler!
