Thanks for the welcome, and, as promised:

It's that darker gray (grey?) with the black trim. And the interior is that lighter shade of gray. Have to confess, I got the idea for the exterior color from scanning THIS forum a few weeks back. (Thanks!)

Admittedly, I splurged a bit, getting the Elite. I've previously owned
a 1991 Civic,
a 1996 V6 Accord,
a 2005 Pilot, (and my wife drives a 2018 CRV)
and now this new Passport.

My only criticism (so far) is needing to remember to press the "automatic idle" button on the center console.
Gotta work on that habit!

Honda is in your bloodline too!

Great color choice with the MSM!
But how did you get white seats?
And you are so brave for that choice.
Mine are the black color, and always very clean until my nephews get in feet first on the seat - WHY?! 🤬

You'll get used to the auto idle if yours works properly. Mine only works 50% of the time, so I always forget to turn it off until my car shuts down at an intersection.

Thank you!
The modern steel metallic exterior is really growing on me. And it's funny, the seats looks white, but they are actually a light gray (gray leather). It's much lighter than I expected, compared to what's on the Honda website.

Like you, I thought about the black interior, but wondered how warm it might get inside.
Do you find it gets warm with a black interior?

Wow! That must be some camera you’ve got! I’ve never seen such a white looking car seats - ever!
I was adamant about getting the MSM as well. I have a history of the silver/grey/MSM type colors on my Honda’s.

So with the black, it does get warm. I haven’t been with my Passport in really hot weather with it yet, just a few high 80’s and high humidity days. My nephews don’t see me from June - Halloween in Vegas, they have to come to the beach to see me! If I’m just running a bunch of errands and in shorts or a sun dress I stick to the seats. I have been looking for car seat covers for the front the last two summers and not yet found anything I liked.

All of my other Honda’s have had the really dark grey or black interior and they lived with me in Vegas or Phoenix. They would get so hot in the summer at any temperature between 90-125*. And I’ve always had really dark window tint that helps a little. But honestly, the only vehicle I’ve been in and I can only think of that had the tan or light grey seats and no tint was my dads Dodge trucks and it would be even hotter?

Haha, I can relate. Not quite Phoenix or Las Vegas, however!

I drove a 2002 Ford Taurus, it had a sunroof, with WHITE leather seats. Most days I kept the sunroof open all the time, and I mean all the time. It would get blazing hot and then ALL the leather seats cracked in three years!!!

I also have the black leather seats. I just cover them with light gray towels if it is hot outside. That and always use a CoverCraft windshield shade along with suction cup shades for the front doors. Rear shades are always up. All that keeps the front seats from getting too hot. Never have a problem even when in AZ. I live in shorts year round here in Carlsbad, CA. :) Sometimes I just leave the towels on the seas bottoms if making several errands and do not want to go through all the other stuff. I do not wear sundresses though !

Well, I am a big weather pansy...

If I park outside I do put my front window shade up and also have the blue UV protection tint on the entire front window as well. I don’t usually keep the rear window shades up though. My nephews who are almost 6 & 8 love them since they sit so low on the seats. My brother got a new big Chevy truck and when I‘m visiting they always want to drive with me because, “Auntie’s car is better it has the window shades”. 😎

I tried the towel on the seats, but when I get in and out it falls out with me, not sure if it’s a height thing. I got this towel thing on Amazon last summer to get me thru a few sticky days and it’s ok, but not the best looking.
There are grippy things on the underside, so it doesn’t slide too much.

And no offense, but dudes who drive Passports, shouldn’t wear a sundress!🤣

Btw - I applied to a really perfect job in SD on Friday. For shits and grins I looked at places for sale (just online) today from Oside to PB, including Carlsbad. Slim pickings right now!

Home prices along the coast have gone up incredibly the last year. Seems even at a faster rate the last 6 mos. I live about 3 miles inland and even the 3br, 2ba 2000 sq. ft. houses near me are around 1.1 million! We are so fortunate to have bought our 4br, 3ba, 2900sq. ft. home 15 years ago for $550k. Of course at the time we did not feel it was such a good deal!
Prices near HB must be much higher!

It’s crazy!

This is the main reason I’m trying to get up to Coastal Oregon. I can buy an amazing 2-3 bedroom home, with a big yard, 2-3 car garage and often brand new everything for $350k or less. And that’s less than a mile to the beach. However, if I have to stay in CA for work, thankfully, I only need a decent garage for my Passport and 500-700sq ft for me. I’m trying to get out of my industry as much as I’m trying to stay in it, but after 100’s of resumes sent out, I had one call back and interview with a social media company that calls themself “a camera company” - - no thanks!

HB home prices are stupid too. I do think we are the cheapest beach town above O-Side, and Hence why 8 years later, I’m still in my tiny apartment. Anything above Long Beach is out of control too. Venice and Santa Monica have been taken over by homeless and their rents are 2-3 times more than I pay, and home prices are even higher than us? I don’t know how the average person can afford it without working for the cartel on the side or living with 15 people who pay into a mortgage or rent!
