New Passport Elite owner here. This will be my daily driver and road trip vehicle. Considering a few modifications to make it more capable for light off roading for camping and landscape photography trips.

Bodies looks interesting. I thought that you can get there in a basic sedan, only a couple miles of well groomed dirt road.

Yeah, but with the Passport ypu can go past Bodie to some other old buildings back along the road that leads to Nevada...!

Hard to believe - but in the '94 I drove to Bodie in an Acura legend. Man did I get looked and laughed at. Drove it in the river beds in Borrego Springs too. Not fast mind you but it got thru. Definitely did not go beyond or off roading.

I believe you, I once took a 1978 Honda Accord Hatchback with a U-Haul rented top box camping with three people in it and we were driving all kinds of dirt roads up around Lee Vining and Mammoth!

Nice, did you come in from the 395 or the 167? How was the ride in the PP over the roads?

I came in off the 935. The road is just wash boarded gravel. No problem at all. A few rashes inflicted on the wheels. I will likely replace those soon with 18s.

I spoke with Jsport today about their products. I’ll need to save some $$$ for the build but it’ll be worth it.

I’m also considering the jsport package. I’m not sure the extra lift is necessary or even desired, but the wheels and tire combo are appealing.

It’ll be around $5K for the entire install I’m thinking although I haven’t been quoted a price.
