The one thing I’m not a fan of is using the paddle shifters with a 9 speed as it’s just a lot of shifting.

This is also one of my concerns. Now when I need to downshift to use engine braking (long steep descent or going down an icy hill) I can just pull the shifter into 2nd or 1st gear easily and quickly. I'm not sure how easy it will be with the paddle shifters ... Do you have to change to sport mode first and then downshift or can it be done in normal drive mode?
