So glad I just discovered the forum! I've had my passport since the 1st week it was for sale back in February. Ive just added a thule hitch bike carrier and now thinking about adding in some deflectors and possibly a roof top tent in the future. Has anyone thought of adding skid plates or is that a little overkill?

Welcome! Nice looking Passport.

There's a couple of us that have added skid-plates and I can tell you it makes me feel much more comfortable when I venture out into the soft stuff to have it. Overkill is only a question of what you plan to do in your Passport. It's a remarkably capable vehicle and I think it's an ideal "soft-roading" camping platform. It's never going to take on the Jeeps and Tacoma's of the world for rock crawling and heavy off-roading, but it sure can hold it's own with Subaru's and the like. I just heard the term CrossOverLanding and I think it fits!

Here's a quick little write up I did on my skid plate install...

Enjoy the new ride, and keep the posts coming as you adventure!
