Hello all, just found this board over the weekend. Looking forward to becoming part of the community here.

We’re on our third Odyssey - a 2017 EX-L with 15 months left on the lease, after leasing a 2014 EX-L and owning a 2003 EX-L for 14 years.

Wife is ready for the next stage in life now that kids are older and one will be driving his own vehicle shortly.

We test drove a Passport Touring AWD and she liked it much more than the CR-V and Pilot, so it looks like this will be the answer for us.

Thanks!

Hello K. welcome to the Passport Forums.
Glad you like the Passport. But if you decide to get another Odyssey instead, make sure you get the
Touring or Elite on the 2018+ have the new and improved Honda made 10-speed. The lower trims and Passport got the left over outsourced 9-speed. This big van gets better mpg than the smaller Passport.
Your Honda 6-speed has very good reviews on how it shifts.

Welcome to the forum Kisel17. I bet you are both looking forward to stepping out a minivan, towards something that's more exciting to look at and drive. Since so much of the Passport has been borrowed from the Pilot, there wont be any first generation woes to worry about either.

Yes I have read about the 9 speed trans issues on Ody Club forums. We’ve been in minivan mode for 16 years and wife wants a change. As much as the minivan is practical and roomy, it would be nice to sit higher up and have AWD. The Ody does well fuel economy wise with same engine but I suspect the AWD and high profile negatively affect fuel efficiency. I am. It concerned about 2 mpg to be honest.

Yes, that is the hope. Drive train is the same. Many interior components are shared. Only thing I noticed on the two Passports at my dealer was the orange peel in the paint, surprisingly poor paint jobs.

Unless you really need AWD for off roading. I would hold off until your lease is up.
Your 2017 EX-L is a great van. By then you can decide and get a great deal on a 2020, and see if any good changes on the 2021 Passport will happen. Most likely a little less black and some 18" wheels will be in the Passports future.

Going to hit to hit 36k by sometime in November. Will be about 6 months before lease is due. Going to revisit things then.
