Greetings, I bought a 2025 PP Black Edition 2 days ago. Love Hondas and I really wanted a normally aspirated V6. With everyone going to 4 cylinder turbos I figured I better I'd better buy while I could still get a 'new car' with a V6. I figure by the time I get my next car (10 or more years) the 4cyl turbo and hybrid technology will have been perfected.

I'm here to learn common issues and resolutions with this model (no man made thing is perfect).

Sure it is. It says so on the window sticker. The 2025 is the exact same as 2024. It even comes up as 2025 when I gave the vin to my insurance. Truthfully it doesn't matter to me, just wondering why you think it's not. And don't go by some AI generated YouTube video of the 2025s.

Again, it wasn't my intent to bother a new member. 100% my mistake.
Refreshing to see this on the internet 🍺

Off the top of my head, I can't think of another 2-row SUV with a standard N/A V6. That's why we have a Passport in our driveway. This engine is bulletproof. Most people don't know how expensive / higher risk it is to rely on a turbo / hybrid engine long-term. BMW and Audi have especially taken a huge long-term quality hit since they went forced induction across the board.

Geez I remember when the RAV4 could be had with a V6!

Congratulations on your new passport. I was more than a little disappointed when I found out that the 2025 did not get the 10 speed automatic like the Pilot has. The updated V6 that is in the Pilot but absent on the Passport did not bother me though. The V6 in the Passport is the 2nd most reliable V6 ever made. I got a 2024 Passport 6 months ago. I took a 3000+ mile trip last month and never had a problem. I averaged just over 24 mpg. That was driving between 70 and 80 mph.

Thanks! If I'm being honest I wanted the old engine knowing its been around longer (though I would have accepted the new engine). I got a 2025 only because that is what was on the lot in the Black Edition trim, a 2024 would have been just fine.

I have a 2024 PP with the silver wheels. it's an EXL. I like Sirius but I don't like the interface to save channels. I have 1300 miles on mine, and tank to tank MPG in town has gone from 15 to 18 to 19.0 to 19.7. Going on a trip in a week and I'm looking forward to seeing highway miles, tank to tank. AC is strong and we find it quiet in town, and very smooth from a ride standpoint. My brother-in-law has a 22' RX350 and we like this car from a ride, room, and noise level perspective better. Good luck.

I bought my PP for the same reasons you did. The Passport is usually rated number one for mid size SUV's, non luxury models. I had the same V6 in my '17 Accord, the last year they had them, and that motor, which is our motor is terrific. Change the oil every 5K, regardless of the 15K the book tells you and it will run forever. I never had a low oil indication with this motor by the car or when I manually checked.

Our local Honda dealer made me a pitch today for a 2025 Black edition. I currently have a leased 2023 Elite and I guess they're short on used cars. Mine with only 8K miles on it and pristine would seem to be saleable. The one question that he couldn't answer is if the phone connection is now wireless or not. And if so will it work with 2 phones? I have an Ottocast wireless adapter in mine now but working with 2 phones isn't easy.

Well technically you can use your phone wirelessly by using just the Bluetooth. I just can't navigate on google. I can still listen to my pandora music. Or I can use my little USB adapter for wireless and then I have access to android auto to be able to do more voice commands and navigate. Sometimes I just use the Bluetooth. Not quite as convenient but just push the talk button on the steering wheel and say phone. Then tell it who you want to call. The 2024 EXL did not come with navigation. I prefer Google maps anyway. I don't need to use it everyday when I'm driving around town... just when I'm on a trip.

I have navigation on my 2023 Passport Trailsport which works well so far.
What I'm really enjoying is my free Syrius subscription for 90 days. They've offered me an additional 2 months for $2.99/month but I hate handing out my credit card number and don't know how bothersome they might be when I cancel after that. $$27.95 or whatever is outrageous. I'm enjoying the quiet of this vehicle and the superb sound system. My 2005 Pilot never had much road noise isolation so you really had to crank it up. I've got two more years of 3/36 coverage and will look into the factory sponsored Honda Extended Warranty. All the tech spooks me.

I've had Sirius for 9 years, once my reduced rate ended (something like 3 years in) I called threatening to cancel and they gave me a rate of about $9 (can't recall actual cost). This rate was for 1 year, I'd set a reminder on the calendar of my phone for a week before it expired and played the dance again, and again getting a low rate. Note: if you don't cancel, there is no notification they just charge you the full rate. Anyway after about 4 years of me calling to get a reduced rate, they sent me an email offering me an $8.99 rate forever.

I didn't really have better music with them. Maybe it's changed... but I couldn't customize my music, it was just a station playing the same genre. I couldn't ask for a song or an artist. If you use Pandora or Spotify they're much more customizable than just listening to One station. And all types of genres. I can put it on mix and it will play something from each one of my radio stations at random. We had Sirius, it came free with the car and then you had to subscribe. So we subscribe for a year, I think it was $150. Then we discovered it wasn't that great. It took 4 years to stop them from charging my credit card! They would not do it automatically when I requested the cancellation and they kept renewing it....and then they would tell you you can only cancel once a year right before the renewal day. Don't get sucked into that. I had to call the Better Business Bureau to get them to stop.

And I'm over here wishing my '21 Pilot had a CD player. 😆
I know Honda still sells the kit, but I'm not tearing half the dash apart to install it.

I have a subscription to SiriusXM and I'm happy with that. Ozzy's Boneyard, Hair Nation, Octane, Classic Vinyl, The Beatles, Elvis, 60's, 70's, 80's, Tom Petty, etc. 🎶🎶🎶

I've had an XM subscription for almost 20 years in my 2005 Acura, and really like it. If it works for you, call them up and ask for the annual subscription with autorenewal. My last one (January 2024) was $101.83 for a year. I plan on transferring mine to my new 2024 PP after the trial period ends, which is today so thanks for the reminder! Also XM-Sirius is currently offering 2 vehicles for $10/month if you are interested in that. But in the fine print it bumps up to $30/month after a year, so I think I'll pass unless they can contine the $10/month.
