I'm wondering about this because it says in the owners manual that the 2.5 usb ports are to be used only for charging. So, to do the nav map updates do I just put my usb stick in one of those ports or is there a special one somewhere and I just haven't seen it!

Don't be surprised if your Garmin app identifies your Passport as a Odyssey, it will upgrade OK.Hi All!

Thanks folks, I did the nav update and it did say it was for the odyssey, everything installed just fine.
I'm in the process of downloading the latest map update to my USB drive. (Wish I had a faster connection, projected time almost 4 hours!) The new map version is 2019.11.
A few weeks ago I updated my portable Garmin unit and it updated to map version 2020.10.
I wonder why the difference?

I have no idea why that would be.
I suspect there are different maps/numbering schemes for the different units. One reason that I plan to use my Garmin Nuvi for long roadtrips is that the maps are more detailed. Now we will have to remember next year that we used odyssey map update when the passport map update finally populates. I made a note to myself on my thumb drive.
